Documentation of how to install the plumbing of meh snorkel, more for reference to anyone reading this.

Sweet. so here is a close up of the setup



As you can see from the left part of the photo, the snorkel tube enters the engine bay where i linked it with the 3" Coupler from advanced vato parts. The tube coming out from the other side however is a spectre intake kit (19.99$) from advanced vato parts as well.

The intake for our trucks is 4" as far as i measured so i went o ace hardware and got a 3" = 4" coupler adapter so i could link the snorkel to my engine. tighten that shit down as far as possible and boom! Functional snorkel

 

So after about 3 weeks of looking into my pretty much empty bed i think i want to invest into storage boxes(metal for starters) that i can physically bolt down to the bed. Maybe something like a chest like this

or something similar. Idk, i just dont want someone going into my bed, cutting all my locks and cables and walking away with my gear again.

Also going to invest in a tailgate (pop n lock?) lock as well this one


Im thinking if i just lock the tailgate, it'll greatly decrease the chances of someone (they still could do this) cutting the back of the softop, and pulling everything out the top, it'd be a pain in the ass but idk, its better than them freely just dropping my tailgate..


Thoughts?

 

Im thinking of getting a rigid tool chest. The hinges are inside and the locks are recessed so they they cant be cut easily.

 

Something to also consider. Would you rather them drop your tailgate or cut your soft topper?

 

... Well either one isnt that difficult. I mean if they cut the softopper, ive got the bed rack on the outside preventing you from pulling shit out the side, locking the tailgate seems to be my next move. Fuck it.

Cant wait to get out of SC anyway. Just been an unlucky time recently.

 

At least if they open the tailgate you dont have to replace a soft topper.

 

Very true. At that point, they must have REALLY wanted whatever i had chillin in the bed. Been thinking about switching to a hardshell too.

 

Just keep the stuff under your bed until you know you are going to use it... No need in carrying it all the time

o.o because you've got the SPACE to put it somewhere else... There wasnt that much gear in the bed it was just super important gear that when i ever started a project, i knew i had the tools for the job..
