I'm ready to order my lift and ran across a table from DSMS's site that has me confused. I was ready to go with 5100s for my rear shocks, but I saw this table:

    Rear Shocks Application Table-
MODEL YEAR REAR LIFT REAR PART # SHOCK SERIES NOTES
    4wd/2wd Tacoma 6 Lug (Prerunner) 05-15 0-1" 24-186728 5100 Series
    4wd/2wd Tacoma 6 Lug (Prerunner) 05-15 2" 33-230337 5125 Series
    4wd/2wd Tacoma 6 Lug (Prerunner) 05-15 3-4" RCD BE5-B110-T5 5100 Series

Please make sure to reference the table above to choose the right shock for your vehicle.

Since I will be adding 1.5" to the rear with the AAL, should I go with 5125 instead of 5100???

If it matters, this is on a 2016 DCORSB and I am removing the factory overload spring and the AAL will be a 3 leaf progressive 1.5" (either Deaver, Wheelers or Toytec).

Also havent decided between 5100s on stock coils up front or 6112s. Just going to lift the front about 1.5" also to get good clearance on 255/85 16s. Maintain factory rake or slightly less.

Never tow and don't haul much. 90% dd/10% offroad, but nothing too technical or rough.

Thanks so much, I am new to lifting and this forum has been awesome in helping me gain some knowledge.

No, go with 5100 because 5125 is more for a custom application. You would need to get an adapter so that the 5125s can mount properly.

Thanks! Thats what I thought. I have seen a bunch of people running 5100s with 1.5" AAL. Just wanted to make sure.
Now, I just need to know if the 6112s up front are worth the extra $$ over the 5100s. I usually subscribe to "buy once, cry once", so I wouldn't mind paying more if the ride is noticeably better on and offroad with the 6112s

Thanks. I think I'm going with the 6112 front set on the middle setting (#3, 1.59"). 5100s rear with Wheelers 1.5" progressive 3 leaf AAL without the factory overload. This should give me approximately 1.5" overall lift and maintain close to factory rake. Should have clearance for my Cooper SST 255/85R16s without need for new UCAs. Going to be on SCS SR8s in matte black. Inferno DCORSB. Should be done around Halloween.

I thought about trying to go stock, but I wanted a little lift anyway. Hopefully, I will get a better ride, too. I sure hope so because I will end up being in to it for about $3K for lift, wheels, tires and installation.

Make sure you post some photos once you do it! I've been trying to decide on 255/85s stock or just 265/75s.

I am using 5125s in the rear with a tsb (Toyota factory AAL basically) and a ToyTec AAL. I'd say it puts me about 2.5 inches over a non-tsb, stock truck. No issues so far, but I don't wheel it super hard (I do hit some pretty bad roads though). The ride is good.

Like Rattletrap66 said, they don't exactly fit right. I had to cut some of the rubber bushing off to mount them and even then it was a PITA. In your case, I'd go with 5100's back there.

Oh I won't haha! I'll be looking forward to it, its going to be a while before I can put some new ones on my baby anyways (hopefully some 5100's as well). My savings is pretty depleted:annoyed:

It'll be worth the wait! Which Tacoma did you end up ordering? I'm still trying to decide if I want to do the wheels or tires first once I have some extra $$.

Nothing wrong with that at all! It'll still be an amazing truck and it'll leave you more money for the mods. I think the all black wheels look better than the OR's silver and black.

You're welcome! I wish the OR had some different wheel options...

OP did you ever pull the trigger on this? If not, I would highly recommend getting aftermarket coils. You can get a set of OME coils from Headstrong off-road for around $170 and it'll be a night and day difference on the ride quality up front.
