Ok guys turned on my 60" plasma TV LG 60PK200 to watch while I ate dinner. Needless to say I wasn't to happy when I turned it on. Worked fine last night. Did someone maybe drop something on it while cleaning around it.. There is a shelf on the top right corner :/ it has sound and some what picture as you can see. It does it on every input, cable box or Xbox. any suggestions on what I can do other than buying a new TV. Like what could I check? I'm pretty good with electronics. I have had this one going or 4 or 5 years now. It should last longer than that.

I have very minimal experience with these but I'll get it rolling. I had a flat screen led go out under warranty. They sent a tv repair guy out and he brought a bag full of basically all the chips in the tv. He just opened the back, changed one at a time and tried it until it worked again and it has worked fine for the years since.

If you can figure out which chip is messed up and find a new one changing it out is easy. You just have to take the back off and they have wire harnesses connecting them. Maybe someone with more experience can tell you which chip may be the problem.

This looks like the problem I had with my sony. Back then I asked what it might be and several mentioned a bad t-conn board. Anyways these newer flat screens are made cheaply. My new Samsung lost it's power supply during the first year so thankfully the in home warranty covered it but if it goes out again it may be cheaper to buy a new set again.

Thanks for the replies. I spent over a grand on this TV a few years ago. I don't want to buy another one lol. I would like to fix it myself. Unfortunately this isn't under warranty anymore. I worked the last few nights. Im off Thursday. Will probably tear into it and see if I see any boards burnt or broke right off the bat. I will search a t-conn board and see if any look similar in my TV. Thanks guys!
