Alright, I have a small leak in my passenger side diff seal where the axle plugs in. I have done a decent amount of research on the tools and the process but I want to make sure I have every thing I will need so I don't come upon any surprises. Other than the seal itself, what other parts should I plan on replacing when I get into this job? I just want to make one trip to the dealership to get everything I need.

I just did mine a couple of weeks ago. You'll need diff oil and if the cv boots are cracked you might as well replace them too.

Sounds good. Should I stick with the oem fluid or make the switch to synthetic?

I haven't had to truck too long but I did notice the leak after I drove some trails and used 4wd the whole time.

I had my cv's out to replace torn boots, my seal started leaking afterwards.
