I just purchased a 40in curved led light bar and I am looking to mount it between my oem roof rack.

I see that rough county has a pretty sweet mounting bracket but I am afraid that it stick out too far and sits too high from the roof/ windshield line.

I could probably make my on brackets with some scrap steel laying around but I know they wont turn our nearly as nice as rough country's.

    also wire routing.

I will be hooking this let light upto the BUSSMAN RTMR FUSE BOX I have ordered ( will be here Fridays super pumped )
should I run the wires down the side of the windshield? I personally think that looks like shit

my other ideas were to drill a hole under the roof rack and run it through the roof. this scares me because aim drilling a hot through my roof!!!!!

any pics or ideas are greatly appreciated lights-40-inch-toyota-mounts_70543-installed.jpg

    Some threads for ideas:

There was a guy in the 2nd gen BST who sold some for a while but idk if he still is.

Second link gives you some guidance if you really want to cut a hole in your roof. Me personally, I ran my power wire down the windshield gap and besides the small 5" length of wire that runs from the top of the windshield, to the bar, you can't tell. No way I am cutting a hole in my roof. But it is my understanding that the earlier 2nd gens had a different style windshield and do not have the proper gap to run the wire. Being you have an 07 that might be the case.

I was kind of thinking about ordering the rough county brackets and off Amazon seeing how they mockup with the light. and if I like it great I will keep it if not I will make a stencil of the brackets return them and then make my own just light their but with the adjustments I want done. I am handy enough with a grinder and my dremel tool to make a nice set of brackets.

Heres mine. 42.5" radius between my OEM rack. It is held in with 5 3/16th SS rivets. I also put some braces behind the OEM rack. SO the rivet goes through the mount, rack, and more metal

    Naveronski and SigSense like this.
