    ^ Agree

They look cool, but pretty sure they wont emit much light since the reflector is blacked out an not mirrored.

Most any aftermarket headlights will be sub par to factory.

I have these, I put in 6000k 35w slim ballasts thinking I would need them after installation due to the lens being "smoked" but the regular bulbs worked fine as well. I probably could have gotten away with the Silvania XZR headlights.

The actual chrome reflector isn't blacked out, just all of the chrome on the outer edge of the house which doesn't reflect or emit light anyways.

Charge BHLM, it's not that hard and so worth it imo.

In case anyone is still wondering about these lights I have them and they are awesome! Look great on the pickup! They did lesson the light output obviously which made it hard to see which was expected with the smoked lense. So I put 50W 4300k moromoto HID's in and the light output is just as good or better than stock and no more blinding either. I have never been flashed either which I had to aim them and I have a 6" lift. The 50W HID's did wonders with these lights makes a easy setup.

Interior LEDs in foot well, sub rings, map lights, dome light, self done window tint, "always on fogs" custom head unit, custom built sub box for access cabs.
I bought these from spyder and put in my 06 I didn't want a fully smoked headlight 1) light output reduction 2) it was too much black on the front of the truck. I love these. They don't leak or spot up even in the humid wet climate of southeast Mississippi. I've had them for 2 months now. So far no complaints.

Those non-smoked versions are nice looking alternatives to a DIY BHLM

They will write you a ticket for smoked headlights? Why?

Light output sucks on most of the aftermarket headlights. Safety thing.
