Not sure how I feel about an existing company using a Kickstarter campaign but interesting nonetheless. I mean I read and understand why they are doing it but still seems odd.

I read they took everything into consideration including the traction nubs being burnt/melted off from spinning tires. I have a feeling they will be priced close to the maxtrax.

Hah we'll see.. Kinda hope price goes down of the old style to get another set (have 4 total)

Kick starter is a crowd sourced funding campaign. So people who want to see a product like this can pre-order them, or make donations in order for them to get funds to start manufacturing them. Normal businesses get funding through investors/loans while this is funded by people like you and me.

Which ones does @JLink have? Definitely remember seeing the nubs melt off his when we were in the pines that one time.

    Wow very interesting.

He has the same ones I got, the current version of TREDs. I've seen them work and not work as well as seeing numbs melt off myself. The problem with the current tracks are they are easily miss used, they can be brand new never used and if you end up spinning tires on it you'll melt the nubs. They are ment to be crawled over in stuck positions. For what I read they put a lot of attention into the issue of nubs being melted off with a "revolutionary" plastic. I'll try to source the info later.

Thanx @malay4785 for the previous info, I decided to take a trip to Assateauge Island in Maryland next weekend. Should be a fun trip to break in the new camp gear.

I've been looking at stoves and that's a pretty nice one. I was hoping for one with a griddle built it or removable one but no luck.

No Problem! I also realized I never sent you a picture of the campsite. Loop F, Site #18, nicely tucked between two dunes to sheild you from neighboring campsits. Was a great time and saw some ponies wandering around the loop as well. Just a recommendation, the firewood from the campsite is not very good, I would look elsewhere, there's a general store before you get on the island that had firewood for sale, although we got it from a grocery store in town the first night.
