Took delivery of my Tacoma last night. When pulling into my driveway which is about a 15-20% incline I took foot off accelerator and immediately started rolling backwards, almost as if it was in neutral. Tried it again today just to make sure it wasn't a fluke.

I looked in the manual and looked through everything in the truck and I didn't find a way to turn it on or off. Anyone else with this issue and/or a solution? TIA!

I've read the manual, it should be working. I was hoping it was something I could resolve without going back to dealer

works fine on mine. sometimes it will start a roll and the remember it has a function that stops it. other times I will put it into drive on a hill, take my foot off brake and it just holds right there - actually a nice feature since my previous vehicle would easily roll 5 feet backwards all the time.

but as others have said, it should work automatically - no buttons to push. And I've also experienced the "blender full of rocks" sound on a steep hill in the mountains I was on. Scared the bejesus out of me. thought my truck broke

Yes, you need to apply the brake firmly. Also, it only holds for a second or until you touch the gas, and then it releases somewhat gently

Gotcha. I actually forgot this was even a feature, and I'm already in the habit of using the hand-brake off-roading, so I didn't even think about. I'll have to test it out.

Yes, my truck is going back to the dealer on Tuesday for the tach and speedo needles "jumping" around and if I can use the HAC or it doesn't work I want to see if I can kill two flies with one visit to the dealer.... lol

Thanks for the suggestions! As far as holding the brake, I've tried that and as soon as I let go it will roll backwards as if in neutral. Taking it back to the dealer Monday and I will update the tread to let everyone know what they say

I have a manual tranny and it works for me, every stop on anything with an incline. Took a little getting used to but I'm good with it now. It's very helpful with a manual tranny.
