Yeah, it is 100% unnecessary to upgrade your FPR under 300 hp. Your bigger pump will keep the fuel pressure where it has to be to feed those bigger injectors at 8-12 psi no problem with the FPR hose strictly atmospherically regulated. You need to make a decision though, because going back and fourth will require a tune each time.
EDIT: actually you have 3 people telling you basically the same thing and one objection (sorry Chris, still love ya bro :D )

    Disagree.

The FPR is totally fine in these trucks. They are the same as the supras and that thing was good for over 300hp easy. I owned one.

I was about to say that. This is the same FPR from the TT supra.

But I think what Tor says is dead on though. Doesn't mater as long as the tuner knows how its configured.

I said 100% unnecessary to upgrade for under 300 HP... I'm not saying 300 is the limit for the stock FPR, I just used that number because that's what Josh is comfortable at currently.

So I got the fuel pump in from denso and dropped it off at the tuner. Things to note. The walbro 255 was so minimally bigger than the stock pump when compared side by side, I questioned why I was even putting it in at the time. It is maybe 1/4" longer and no wider. This pump I just got in is a f'ing beast. It's like twice as wide and an 1 1/2" longer, and weighs a helluva lot more. It's oem for a twin turbo supra ($350 retail i got for $160). I am fully confident that my fueling needs will be met.

    Denso pump #950-0155

Just a little tip if any of you turbo/SC taco owners ever experience a weird studder under boost, check your spark plug gaps. My truck has been driving with less balls lately under boost with a weird studder that is audible from the wastegate. Turns out some of my spark plugs were gapped at around and above .040. I tightened them all down to .028 (yeah yeah, I know and I don't wana hear it) and she is faster than ever now.

Interesting. Mine were gapped at .044 IIRC and are probably a little wider from wear. Going to have to install the iridium's soon I guess.

I'm using the the stocker dual ground NKG's. Had bad results with those iridiums so I switched back. Yeah that studder was a PITA to resolve but after looking over a WRX thread somewhere, turns out that is a sign that the spark is being burnt out due to the bigger gap and extra pressure.

Normal copper plugs work best with boosted cars.

Yeah, I'm not completely sold onto the "URD recommended" iridium plugs but I got them cheap from a user that didn't want them.

    FAI systems. Whatever.

All they ever recommend in supra world. the other iridium stuff or whatever never worked as good. The coppers do wear a bit faster but they spark better

I use the TR6 plugs by ngk. A lot of turbo lsx guys use um with high boost too and they work great on my truck.

Diff engine though. IIRC the 5vz is rated for Denso IK16 plugs. If you want to go colder, the next level is 20. I guess its recommended to go two steps colder to 22.

Here is a heat range chart

Honestly i think its more of a motor thing.

Iridium does last long and is supposed to spark bigger ect. But i know some motors just don't like them. That is what the consensus seemed to be on the 7mgte motor. But really, plugs are plugs. They will all work fine really.

I'm running denso ik22 now. My understanding is that its the plug used when the factory supercharges the 3.4L.

Saw that rc video a while ago, liked it. Crazy driving it in traffic, looks cool. I'm going to have to mount the knock off gopro to mine here one day soon and cause some responsible mahem. Dude, that gopro I got was like $65 (vs. $500) and it does all the same stuff, bluetooth transmits to my smart phone (controls it remotely) and all. Freaking killer if anybody is interested.
