    @Hugopreston Now that you're rolling 4WD and have stated an interest in doing some wheeling, allow me to strongly suggest your first mod, before anything else and as soon as possible, be rock sliders! @allenfab makes some good lookin' ones.

    Well, you don't have all the goodies an OR does, but I assure you, you can get plenty far down the trail with 4WD and open diffs to crunch your rockers. ;) Thus, rock sliders should be the very first thing you do, possibly even before you hit the trails, stock tires or not. :cool: Trust me on this. Just look at Frank's rockers at Tamlando. Almost all of us have learned this the hard way. I even put a small dent in my passenger side rocker the first time I took the OGT out in basically stock condition.

    So I have already messaged him about the sliders. I've been looking, but there aren't many options out for the 16 yet. In the meantime, what kind of recovery gear is a must have? I.e. Tow straps etc.

    Do you want weld on or bolt on sliders @Hugopreston , weld on will be stronger but harder to go back to stock of course

    What Frank said...except, I don't carry a chainsaw and I don't have a hilift jack (though I do want to get one eventually). The ax and the shovel I show up with is more for camping. I'm of the opinion that you're pretty much screwed if you have to resort to trying to shovel your way out. :eek: But that might be because I'm a lazy bastich. o_O

    Seen them do this on Ice Road Truckers a few times. If it works for an 18 wheeler...:thumbsup:

    Welding plates to the frame or drilling holes in it; six o one half a dozen of the other. :D Only real benefit to having them bolted on is you can take them back off and put them on something else without any additional cutting and welding. :cool:

    1997 t4r has super duty axles, 5.13s locked front and rear. 3 link front with 14" kings. Rear 63s.
