Tried to replace the stock rear lights with 7443 LEDS. Didn't work in the turn signals or brake lights. Did not light at all. Reversed polarity, still nothing. The manual says the bulbs are 7443 but could they be 7443 CK ?

I'm not sure about the rear lights but i did put a set of switchback VLEDS in my turn signals and they required a Regular 7440 socket, not a CK socket!!!!

They are 7443's and not CK's. I found that if you install them one way they wont light but turn 180 and install and they light. What brand LED are you using?

After your advice on the correct bulb I went back and tried them again. The one bulb I originally tried had a bent contact. Fixed that and now they all work. The bonus to this is that I don't need resistors. First time I have seen that. Thanks for the help.

In line between the ground and blinker wire. The turn signals are 3 wire. gnd, power and blink. There are a number of companies that manufacture these to make it easy and just splice inline. Plenty of videos on Google or go to VLED website that has a decent explanation.
