My suggestion would be to dig around in the suspension forum, doing a couple days of reading. But ask yourself some questions along the way.

Why do I want a lift? To be pretty, or serve some useful function? (it matters on component choice)

What size tires do you have in mind? Again, why? To look cool, or actually have a purpose? Most 2wd units don't really 'need' bigger tires for off roading, but maybe you do. Or maybe you are 4wd. You don't say. Tire size may determine lift amount, thus type.

What is your budget? IE are you Walmart grade just looking to pose, and trying to run on the cheap? Or are you wanting to retain the functionality of the ride, cargo capacity, handling, etc. Big difference in budgets.

And, the larger the lift the more 'other' items are affected, like brake lines, control arms, etc etc. The reading will help you understand those thresholds.

Sure, folks can pile in here and tell you what to do, based on 'their' experience. But you need to make good choices based on your (unstated) goals.

Good luck, and enjoy the process!

Yeah, I gotta agree with Bill on this one. It all depends on what you want to do with your truck after you lift it.

Mines a 4x4, I'm not into this fad going on. That's not the reason for the lift its for a useful purpose . I do a lot of hunting an some trails, nothing to serious that's what my Cherokee is for, but I do want to lift it up some, an put 18" wheels, an more than likely 33s. I don't wanna cheap out what so ever, but at the same time it's not going to be a trail rig, I'm trying to find a good in between. I want reliability, a good ride, an handling. Just trying to figure out what would suit me the best. I live in the mountains of Tennessee, so I need the best of both worlds if at all possible

If you want quality, then you don't want rough country.

Get this lift (first one in the link). it is a good quality kit for a good price. You'll want either 887 or 885 coils, no diff drop, and upper control arms if you can afford them. I have it on my truck and love it. Lots of people running this kit and feel the same. I'm also running 33s and it required only a small amount of trimming.

Marie at headstrong is very helpful and they have excellent prices! @HeadStrong Off-Road

I am not sure if you'd want the 885s or 887s for an access cab, hopefully somebody can chime in...

^^^ this would be a very good option. But I suggest doing your research here for a while first. There's a lot to learn. Where in TN are you located? Oh, and welcome.

Worse kit you can buy for these trucks IMO. These coils are terrible and will provide the worse ride ever having a spring rate of 718 lbs.
