    Thanks :D me too.

Probably not, at least not in those conditions! Lol

I think I'll be buying some chains over thanksgiving, then invest into a nice winch, @usoffroad makes a nice stealthy winch mount that's just recently caught my attention. Oh and sandbags!

Yep, it happens. FWIW (op) braking etc is 100% dependent on traction between your tires and the surface they're on. So if your brakes are locked up and you're sliding, the emergency brake isn't going to do a thing better. In fact if you JUST used your Ebrake, you're only braking on the rear axle and losing *potentially* more than 1/2 or available braking. Likewise putting it in park, you're still just locking up your back axle (if in 2wd). But if there's no traction at the tires, it doesn't matter what method you use to lock up the brakes, you still have no traction. The method behind ABS is to pulse the brakes faster and more sensitively than your foot can, in theory you'll be getting marginal grip between pulses as the tires lock/unlock. Marginal traction will do a better job than no traction. I believe that in most tests the only time that ABS worked worse than manual application was on loose dirt. Being in 4wd in regards to braking basically doesn't matter. Brakes are brakes regardless of what the tcase is doing. However it will do more for you in slowing a controlled decent as you'll have engine braking at 4 wheels instead of 2.

And your buddy dragging a foot... you've got a couple + tons of pressure on the tires already. Adding another 60lbs on 1 shoe isn't going to do much besides get him hurt. That's like all the people that get hurt every year trying to stop a rollover by sticking their arm out the window.

Sliding on ice, you hit the brakes and expected to stop? Then pulled the e-brake and expected to stop? Then put it in park and still expected to stop? I don't think a man's foot will have more traction than 4 tires but I ain't no chemist or nothin.

Do you hate tacomas or something?

@Indy thanks for clearing up the ABS thing, and the foot thing...yeah it was a bad call, but not my call, that's all I'll say about that.
