I plan on doing the following set up:

-JL Audio sealed enclosure with two 10" subwoofers
-power handling: 150-400 watts RMS (800 watts peak power)

    -Polk Audio db6501 component speakers
-power range: 10-100 watts RMS (300 watts peak power)

Can someone please recommend an amp that would power both the sub and the speakers? I will be replacing the stock headunit just don't know with what yet.

    Thank you...

Here's my 2 cents - I've been running Alpine PDX's for 4 months now. They cook just about every day for two 40 minute commuting cycles, and I have zero issues with them. Doesn't matter whether the load is 4 ohm or 2 ohm, the power is current limited and it stays the same. These are tiny amps and they also sound really really really good and clear at low volumes. Don't run away from these because of the retail $500 price tag...you can get them in the low $300 range from Amazon, brand spanking new and normal stock (not crappy refurbs or scratched b-stock stuff) if you want to forgo Alpine's customer support. These are Class-D digital amps which sound like true Class AB amps. Also, they are very very power efficient and sip the supply current, which means your headlights won't dim or will only minimally dim.

Alpine's still new PDR's, which are middle tier, are supposed to be based off the PDX's (as the current PDX 2nd Gen has been around since 2010)...they put out around the same power, but have slightly less SNR, and don't have quite the same fit/finish as PDX's. These cost about $50 to $100 less than the PDX's, and probably sound just as good.

I've seen pictures of the current Alpine entry level amps, and there is nothing but free space inside. Big circuit board with not a lot of components (ie. basic power stages, filtering and overall amplifier design) I'd stay away from those.

I second mBrogz. I have a PDR-f50 and I love it. Never head a pdx, but I'm sure they rock too. PDRs are about the same money as PDX on Amazon right now. You won't go wrong with either.
