IMO there is a difference in owning a Taco and a Chevy...one you feel inside...the other has no mystique...but if you are using your truck for commercial purposes and business then the choice becomes more practical for your specific needs and less from the heart...

All I can speak for are the previous gens. For our company work trucks we have 4 colorados (2008) and two 2nd gen tacomas (06 and 07). The tacos have about 140k on the clock and never have any problems aside from alignments and AC recharging every summer. The 4 colorados have 60k to 80k on the clock and we have constant codes being thrown, constant recalls, replacing suspension parts including leafs and the ABS just screws up on a monthly basis. I'm assuming the reliability of the new Colorado and 3rd gen will be about the same as their predecessors

Consumer reports..... twins- worst possible rating for reliability. Taco- best possible.

So despite that neither of the newer trucks shares any of the powertrain of the prior trucks, you can make an assumption that everything stays the same as before?

Wait, just a little while ago consumer reports said some unfriendly things about the tacoma and everyone here called their reviews trash.

2015 Tacoma was up there with a solid red circle. (best rating) 2016 now in testing. Solid black circle (worst rating)

Can you screen-cap the "Reliability" tab for us as well? Be useful to compare both 2015 and 2016 for the GM Twins and the Taco.

So we're praising consumer reports now that they say something negative about the GM twins, but bash all these money sucking media conglomerates when they say something bad about the Tacomas.

I guess we can have our cake and eat it too...

But who here actually gives a fuck what Consumer Report says?

If you only buy or not buy things based on what a fucking magazine says, then I think you should reevaluate how you live your life by reading more fucking magazines like the Cosmopolitan.

Consumer reports would probably give a zero to the most iconic and loved world wide Land Rover Defender...67 years of production and over 2 million units...built mostly by loving labor and people...there are critics, there are numbers, and then there is Heart and Soul...neither of which are definable...

Actually the new frame on a 2016 is completely redone and has a rust resistant chemical adhesion..
