Ok so when I sell my old subs from my previous car I am going to upgrade the subs in the taco. Then the door speakers later and all of this when I get the money. So I am going to be putting in an Alpine IVE-W530 this weekend and I forget the exact amp for the subs but I know it is a Rockford Fosgate something it used to push two Alpine 12" Type R subs. So my question is should I run a P3SD212 or two 10W1V2-8? I'm thinking of using a ported box but i'm not sure yet. Thoughts?

I do love loud crazy bass but I also like it to be clean I can hear distortion when other people usually can't. I know it's hard to get both worlds but I also like it to be clean. I believe in doing things right the first time and use the proper equipment.

I'd go beast amp, and a sealed enclosure with a couple tens.

Yeah the amp I have is either the T1000-1bdCP or the T1500-1bdCP.

Definitely the 2 10" JL's. One of my favorite subs in its price range, and I'm pretty well rooted in the car audio industry.

If your amp pushed 2 alpine type R, then maybe look into 1 Addictive Audio out of Fresno,CA or 1 Digital Designs out of Oklahoma City area i believe. Any of those subs will give you that bass your looking for but make sure you get a box designed for those subs. Or give them a call and get the enclosure specs. Without a bigger amp in my opinion this might be the hardest hitting bass you can get. This is the type of bass you feel in your chest and makes fixed objects start to come loose. You will pay more for these but you will only need 1 and. Moving air is basically the name of the game here, because of the quality difference on these type of subs they allow for massive ammounts of cone travel " excursion" without tearing themselves apart.side note, DD has been in buisness since house partys and DJ systems were in style

    No.

You will not get the same output as two 10" W1 sub woofers with either of those single woofers that you mentioned. I could sit here and do the math for you, but I'm not going to take that kind of time.

The W1's are excellent woofers, I have heard SQ oriented stereos paired with them and when used properly a pair W1's will produce a very impressive bass stage with enough volume to please just about anyone. You can put 1000w to them with a properly tuned gain structure and they will perform flawlessly.

I just re-read my previous post i still do not see where it says that 1 sub will have more output than 2 subs of equal size...but i will say this, two 10 inch AA or DD's vs 2 JL's well you can do the math on that. I suggested 1 sub simply to avoid having to buy a larger amp or a 2nd amp for the OP, was not meant as an output comparrison of 1sub vs 2subs.

Bolded and the things in your post that:
    • would lead one to believe that you were implying that one of your suggested sub woofers would yield the same performance as two of the aforementioned subs.
    • was generally misleading information
The ones that are underlined are the more prominent offenders.

Thanks for clearing all of that up, now that its all said and done me personally i am NOT deeply rooted in the audio industry i am not promoting a certain product, and i sure do not take offense when another product is mentioned i can care less, i am not an employee or owner of any audio shop and i do not know anyone that is. I am a customer of these products and have purchased, returned, exchanged, refunded, blown, etc. Several subs hands on experiance with multiple brands including JL. I have found what works for me in a far superior way. I personally run 1 DD in my Freightliner Cascadia id run 2 but prefer to keep the weight down in the cab. And now back to the OP original topic... Shaneckc if you would like to continue a side conversation please PM me this is a forum not a chat room.

Don't get me wrong, I was not offended by your suggestion of a different product. I've formulated my brand preferences on that same type of experience, but on a much broader scale. I don't own a shop, or even work in one anymore, and the company that I do work for doesn't make speakers or amplifiers for the performance driven market, so I am not basing my recommendations on any kind of bias. I am just as much of a customer as I am a professional in the Car Audio field.

My response was solely in the interest of providing the OP with the most accurate information pertaining to his request and was still on topic.

Respectfully, a forum is a place to discuss, similar to a chat room. Derailing this conversation into private channels would not benefit any others potentially looking for similar information to the OP, so let's keep discussing here?

I've got two 10's (Kicker Comp-D) in a box I got from Amazon.com. The amp I'm using doesn't even hit the max the subs are rated for. Gets loud enough for my tastes!

Not ported though. And had to remove the plastic storage bins from behind the rear seat.
