    a bunch of new/used parts....and some skids.
With the recent frame replacement and repairs that have been done it looks like the only rusty bits on my 05 dc sb were the hitch and the spare rim.
I took them both apart, separated the bits and pieces, scrubbed them down with a few wire brushes and some sanding blocks, cleaned it up and put some of that rustoleum rust-reformer primer on and then hit it with some flat black rustoleum paint.

The 24 hour wait from primer to paint seems to allow for some chemical reaction to occur between the paint additives and the remaining "surface" rust.

The previous owner looks like they just hosed the rusty hitch down with black paint which flaked off and rusted up pretty quickly. Looks pretty good now with the chunks of rust gone and fresh paint.

    * snapped off the bolts for the wiring harness so it looks like I'll be installing them into the bumper next weekend.WP_20151121_002.jpg

If anyone knows of a better location for this rando information:

Picked up a set of National Tire and Battery (NTB) cooper Discover RTX (265/75/16) for $433 Mounted/Balanced/recyclefee

and I've recently emailed ARE about their caps as I am interested in investing in a RTT so I asked them about their max weight capacity.

"The weight rating on our fiberglass caps when driving the vehicle is set at 150 lbs due to various dynamic forces such as sudden stops, potholes, sharp turns etc. Additionally, you should always consult the vehicle manufacturer for center of gravity ratings. When the vehicle is not moving (for camping) the roof and rack can actually carry well over that amount. While this is not something we guarantee under warranty, our caps have been tested to hold well over 800 lbs when stationary. If you have any further questions please do not hesitate to contact me. "

Hauled about 315lbs of Hot Tub Chemicals to work yesterday. Thanks to my Dakars you'd never know!

Also, the drive through at City Brew isn't always faster. The red Subaru SUV was in this same spot when I walked in and when I walked out with my beverage.

Also just ordered the Husky front mud flaps from Amazon for $35.

Ordered a HiLift and a hitch recovery unit with D-Ring. Also ordered @BensonX's HiLift bed rail mounting system.

Went in for the 10k service. Dealer said they couldn't rotate tired bc they didn't have my wheel lock key. I didn't even know I had wheel locks. Picked it up and drove home, inspected the lugs and I don't see any that require a "key". I have after market pro comp wheels, any reason why the lugs I have the dealer wouldn't be able to rotate?

Do you see the splines that run the length of your lug nuts? You need a wheel key for that. Contact Pro Comp or wherever you got your lug nuts.

I've got Pro Comp lugs on my Method's. They are Splined and came with their own key.

However, the tire shop that did my install also had their own key that fits as well. Because... they are a tire shop. And they sell wheels...

If you read the HiLift website they say yes. Something about two piece versus single piece?

Just ordered my own HiLift so no experience yet. Amazon is the cheapest I could find them.

So the retailer I ordered my Smitybuilt Hitch recovery with DRing just notified me they are cancelling my order because they are out of stock until end of December.

Anyone recommend another brand? Online reviews make some seem cheap...

Get some square tubing, drill a couple holes, and make one on the cheap.

Not sure on durability but it was cheap. Now that I winterized my boat swapped in the recovery today. Btw harbor freight special is on the cheap

^^^^ This Also, places like tractor supply and the likes often sell pieces parts for making your own hitch accessories. They come with the hole for the pin already drilled. This is a reducer but it's similar

Yeah we have a harbor freight in town as of this year. I've gotten a couple items there. Just don't want something so cheap it fails when I need it. Haha

Might have to stop by there. Not sure yet but I might be attending a group winter trail ride on a couple weeks and would like to have a recovery point before I go.

Be careful when buying from Harbor Freight. Their stuff is cheap, sure. But it's for a good reason. The products are, typically, very cheaply made.
