I got the new wheels and tires mounted this morning. I am still getting vibes, hardly noticeable. Previously, the vibes were in the 20-27 mph range and now they are only in 23-24 mph range. The Nitto's may be masking some of whatever is the issue. The vibes are constant and consistent when in the speed range; not like on my gen 2 where I have vibes around 40 mph and they tend to surge and diminish as the differential rotates. I asked the tire advisor to check the balance on my stock wheels, however, the request didn't get relayed to the installer. The installer did say the amount weights on the stockers appeared normal. I am no mechanic, but probably can rule out wheel balance as culprit in my case. Posting pics on White Gen 3 thread and What Have I Done Today.... Super happy with the wheel combo:)image.jpg

Wow G-52 wheel and tire combo look awesome! I just finished a 3 1/2 hour trip and got frustrated a lot, I'm so use to my tundra just being able to idle through everything, the up shift downshift BS the tacoma was doing was wearing on me and I would be lying if I said I didn't drop the hammer a few times HeHe. I think the big contributing factor was the 25-30 mph head winds. Once I reached a road to where the wind was hitting perpendicular to the truck it was great. Despite the constant up shift downshift, tons of hills, and the hammer being dropped multiple (multiple) times i still managed around 19 mpg so I am quite pleased in that aspect. I just have a lot of getting use to with this tacoma especially coming from tundra and having a vette. On the vibration issue, I am glad for you that the vibes have decreased sucks they didn't completely go away. It may just be something I have to get use to. There are a few other bugs with the truck that kinda pick my nerves but hoping with time toyota will sort the issues out.

My truck is at the dealer now and has been for the past 4 days, from what I understood from the service manager they are sending out an engineer to possibly diagnose the problem. I am having a lot of vibration when braking and they think it's something in the differential/driveline. Not very happy about it and have expressed this to them, if this does not fix the problem I will be hopefully getting a new truck from Toyota.

My 2015 vibrates like you describe, after a new set of tires they are going to tell you it is normal road feedback. My vibrations did get "better" (less violent) and at different speeds with the new tires. I have explained to Toyota that if this is "normal" a Ford name plate will be on my next truck. Goodluck, see you in the Ford truck forum. Like stated before Toyota does nothing wrong.

That's what I would like to happen, I am going to let them do their thing, and if nothing's been resolved get me into a new truck, Kayak when I felt this vibe, I though ah shoot this is exactly what people have been fighting for years on Tacomas, put a bad taste in my mouth and I agree that Toyota can "do no wrong" they are the worst Corp for fixing problems they kind of just ice things over and call it normal.

Oh and Inferno, if your having vibes while braking it could very well be warped rotors, my 13 tundra had warped rotors with 12 miles on the clock

Found this thread searching the forums and figured I would post here rather than start a new one.

I have the weirdest thing happening in my truck. When braking from cruising speeds (anything above 40 mph really) the truck will have some vibrations between 30-25 mph and then from 20-15 mph (with the 20-15 mph being much more noticeable and happening more consistently). I thought originally it was due to the tranny so I threw it in neutral to do the braking a few times and it still happens. While accelerating this is not a problem at all.

So I thought maybe warped rotors, but wouldn't I feel that all the time? Maybe unbalanced tires? Or is it possible there could be some drive line vibrations?

Oh and this is a brand new truck ~500 miles on the clock

Perhaps you are feeling the brake booster for the rears?

Mine does the same thing from about 25-15. Very odd.

Interesting. Guess it can happen regardless of auto or manual transmission. I am taking mine up to my dealer on friday. I'll update with any info i receive on it.

Thanks. Since my mileage is so low, I was figuring at this point it may be a break in issue with the brakes.
