Hey guys I've been looking for a tacoma for a while now and found this one. It's 3 hours from where I live so I want to be fully prepared what to look for if I go check it out. The truck has 220k on it but had a new motor with only 75k on it put in around 10k miles ago. It's an automatic which kinda sucks. He was originally asking 12850 but I got it down to 11. Thanks for any input!

Oh man im only an hour from grants pass! Im gunna jump on it!! JK!! That thing sure is clean under the hood! And fyi you wont find one of those DC's with a manual trans, unfortunately toyota had their heads up their ass' when they made that stupid decision. ..

I too think the price is a little extreme. Seems these days everyone wants over ten for their 15/20 year old tacoma with 200+k. I find the prices ridiculous, especially with tons of miles, but people keep frigging payin those prices so they keep getting listed and sold at those prices.

Thanks for the fast responses! What do you guys think a fair price for it would be? I can try getting him down some more. Bry go check it out for me and let me know what you think lol. Are the automatics good transmissions? I feel like that's a ton of miles for an auto tranny.

ya damn that's way too high, round here in colo, where Toyotas are very high cost you could get that 01 with that mileage on it for round 6-8 grand, it looks clean but unless everything like shocks bushings bearing brakes I mean everything was changes to new real recent, I wouldn't pay any where near that and colo, has one of the highest resale values for tacomas that there is, too many rich pot smoking hippies!lol

So it seems the 9-10 thousand range would be a little more fair?

Not sure on the longevity of those auto trannys, never had one. But like you it sure seems like it wouldnt have a whole lotta life left in her. But with that said im sure there are a few guys on here with a gazillion miles with that trans...

Lol that's funny chad! All the tacomas I find around here for that price all have problems with them, which I really don't want to have to deal with.

iv looked at a lot not too long ago before I got the 05 from my uncle and I found sum really nice lower mileage ones for the range 6-8, ready to go and most had sum to a few mods like small lifts or at least bigger rims tires, stuff like that.and between the pot smoking hippies comin here for the weed and the south of the border guys buying all the wrecked ones from the dealer auctions around the state you cant hardly find a Tacoma anymore here.they buy the wrecked ones for really cheap take em south of the border then fix em and ship em to farther south like brazil and down there and they say they can make ten to fifteen times what they pay for trhem here, so every day long lines of them go from Denver to the south heading for the border. its crazy. do they do that there too?

I don't think they ship them down south. Toyotas are just extremely popular here and people drive the snot out of them and don't let go of them until they are 200k plus. Next best deal I have found was an 06 at a dealership for 21k and it had 130k miles on it! Prices are rediculous lol

That's normal Or. priced unfortunately. A buddy recently sold a similar truck and miles but manual for 12500. Cost him 500 to drive for almost 3 years. Advertised at his purchased price of 13k and first guy to show up brought cash.

Which is the reason I bought new in 14

So ridgeline do you think that is pretty fair? I know where we live is over priced like crazy but if it's the going price I won't feel as bad forking out the money for it

His was super clean. Inside and out. Hard to tell from pics but if it is indeed clean, then I'd say fair at 11. Always work for a little more and cash talks. No rust issues for us but look at mods if any have been done. Wiring is a big one for me. I'm picky about electrical.

And you'll be surprised what you can get out of your 95 based on condition.

Looks nice from the ad. Check it out in person. I don't know much about lockers and guessing it's aftermarket since it's not an TRD OR? Look it over good.

Here are a couple interior pics. I don't think any wiring has been done. I will find out for sure

Did the 01's have any specific problems I should look for when I go look at it?

That I can't say. Maybe start another thread asking that question in particular?

That has been asked many times, search.

For the truck, its looks very clean. What does carfax say. Where was the car originally sold. Rust?

9-10k would be a good price. See if he'll put down 2k on the bill of sale.

My pops still have his 2001 with 280K miles on it. The engine is built to last if you take care of it. From the picture it look clean but make sure you check for any damages that is not reported. 9K is fair if everything checks out, I would not pay anything more than that.

He says he's pretty firm on 11,000. But he said he can put it as a gift on the bill of sale so I won't get screwed with state taxes. As for where it originally came from I haven't asked that yet..
