Tacoma is stock and staying that way, Pickup is TBA as of now.
Today I got 22mpg all highway for 120 miles doing 80 down the highway without cruise and no wind at all. On the return trip, I used cruise at the same speed and there was a headwind but my fuel gauge didn't seem to move any more than it had on the trip up. I will go top it off shortly and post the results later. This truck continues to amaze me, matches the same mileage I had with my 4 cylinder and sometimes beats it. All I did was change the oil and air filter and that made a huge difference. I definitely can't complain about my mileage on the highway with my V6. I was always under the impression that the 4.0 was supposed to get better mileage but I think my 3.4 edges it out a little based on the results I've seen posted here.

    Hey, thanks for the tip.

So I had another MPG test this morning. I intentionally drove this last tank much more "spirited" (not so eco friendly).

Here are the calculations (No adjustment factor, your suggested adjustment logic, and another suggestion on the logic)

    No Logic:
    Trip @ 358 Miles / topped off @ 19 gallons = 18.8 MPG

    Your Logic suggestion:
    Trip @ 358 * 1.04 = 372 / 19 = 19.6 MPG

    Another suggestion on the logic:
    265 / 70 = 265 wide and a sidewall height of (265 * .70) or 185.5
    265 / 75 = 265 wide and a sidewall height of (265 * .75) or 198.75
The percentage difference in tire diameter is 1-(185.5/198.75) or 6.6%
    Trip @ 358 * 1.066 = 381 / 19 = 20.0 MPG

I'll take any one of them as great!

I purchased it in May and check my mileage every tank.
I have never been below 20 mpg and never above 23. Most of my driving is 60 miles round trip to work (no interstate) traveling between 45 - 60 mph which is optimal for the gas mileage. I am pleased with my Taco so far.

I have a 2014 Access Cab V6, 4x4, 6-speed manual. I average 18.3 with the best being 22.6 once according to my Fuelly app. I would stay it is 50/50 highway city usually.

I've had 2 2011 4.0 pre runners....one for about 50,000 miles and one for about 4,000 miles now. Both are consistently right around 21.0 mpg. I drive at least 80 miles round trip to work per day and most of my miles are highway.

There's highway and then there's "highway" - ie the difference between 55mph and 75mph could easily be 3-5 mpg.

My 2009 6sp with P245/75-16 Michelin LTX MS2's "sweet spot" is about 67-68 mph (per ScanGauge) and gives me about 21 mpg on rolling hills on the interstate. Lost about 1 mpg with the Michelins, even though OEM size, the Michelins are .4 inch wider tread.

2006 DCSB TRD OR 6SPD. My mpg has been falling and I'm down to about 11.8mpg avg. This last tank just got me 200miles. What gives?

Just came back from an 800 highway miles trip... No cargo, just big old me and my bag for 3 days... 16.5-17.5 mpg... add 1/2 mpg for the odometer error due to the 265/75 tires. Drove 5 mph over the posted speeds, tops.

Seems really low considering my eco driving. Granted I hit a light every 1/4 mile or so, i was still hoping for better figures. Does this seem right?

2011 Double Cab 4x4 Longbox Automatic 4.0 V6 on stock 245/75/16 dunlops and original steel rims and have traveled 74,683 km (This is Odometer reading, with a GPS measurement factor, there actually is about 400km less but ignored for calculation purposes as it changes fuel consumption by about 0.1mpg) and have put in 9111.101 L in fuel for an average gas mileage rate of 12.2L/100km or 19.3mpg. Best mileage on any fill up I got was 22.3mpg and worst was 15.2mpg.

Total spent on fuel is $9,478.69 Canadian so works out to cost $0.127 per km driven for fuel. At Canadian fuel rates over the past 4.5 years which based on these numbers average $1.040/L (Canadian Dollars) or about $3.13/gallon US Dollars at todays exchnage rate.

About to put on 265/75/16 Duratracs on this weekend so we will see what that does to mileage over next few years.

I'll do a test on my next fill. I remember testing 6 months ago and got around 20-21 MPG. I do a fair bit of highway, and use the eggshell mod as well as sticking with the speed limit on the highway. Those two things make a massive difference, like an extra 80 miles to a tank.
