It is weird. You'd think less rubber would mean less money.

From what I've heard, the casting process becomes harder the larger the wheel opening. I think it has to do with the small amount of sidewall making it difficult for good quality control. Also 15" tires are wayyyy more common and become less so the larger the wheel opening, so they need to recover more tooling cost per tire for larger sizes.

Holy crap that's cheap. Is that where you always get your tires? Never off the shelf new?

The last set I got from TWF (BFG Baja's) were brand new. Still had nipples on them. I wait till they get a new shipment of tires in and have them set me aside "new" ones. The first set of Goodyear's I got I hand picked out of a warehouse of around 1000 tires, and they were like new for $75 each. The goodyear's suck balls, but are a super tough tire and do great in the desert. The BFG Baja's are just a big KM2 (similar tread pattern and compound) mounted on the race tire carcass. Super tough, good in ice and snow, mud and ok on rocks. For around here, it's hard to find a better offroad tire. A little noisy on the highway for a DD, but not as bad as swampers.

Edit: last set before I mounted them

I must have had a different post started and then missed it. Lol.

My wife was interested in getting a self cut tree this year. Any recommendations or group trips planned? I asked before about a "tree run" but heard back it was mainly Washington folks that do it.

I don't think any of the PDX area members ever leave city limits. They could probably tell you which stores have the nicest fake trees. :D

@northwesttaco How's your truck ride without a swaybar in the front and your plate bumper? I drive a lot of freeway and feel like it might be a little sketchy. We have the same shocks up front so i figure you'd be the one to ask.

I know it'll tuck up better than this without the swaybar, is it worth it?image.jpg

I LOVE IT. You do feel a bit of a difference but it really isn't bad at all, i've had to swerve and haven't crashed so Im fine with it. Just don't drive it like a rally truck and you'll be fine. Worst comes to worst you spend 10 minutes putting it back on, super easy to take on/off
