Bought a 2015 Colorado LT 4x4 last December and traded it in for a 16 Tacoma OR crew cab a week ago. Motor Trend got it wrong 2 years in a row and I got it wrong last December.

Is there anything you liked about the Colorado that the Tacoma doesn't have?

I did like the rear bumper setup-the Taco's "chrome" end caps are "cheap". Toyota says they changed the rear bumper to a 3 piece to reduce repair costs but i'd prefer a solid 1 piece bumper.

Thanks for posting. We know the GM twins are competition and some are hovering in the corner waiting for the new Ranger but being a previous Twin owner and giving honest feedback is crucial for understanding the field.
Wonder how many dropped the Tacoma and got one of the Twins and truly like the switch. Not trying to start any shit storm.....

I test drove the GMC Canyon All Terrain. It was ok. Seats were stiff. Road noise was about the same as a Tacoma. The dealer wanted MSRP (LoL). All I could think of is having buyers regret when parts started failing in a couple of years. Or how I got ripped off when they over build and offer 20% off year end sale. The sales guy was sleazy. Anyway, I bought a 2015 TRD Sport and it was about $6K off the MSRP. Never looked back.

OME, sliders, dents, hail damage, soiled armrest. Lightbulbs.
Can you compare and contrast the vehicles for us? What made you switch? Any redeeming qualities of the Colorado?

That's a good question. There's reviews out there that compare the two and most of them pick the GMs. What makes one switch?

probably because GM is in their pockets. Toyota doesn't need to be. Their quality is undeniable:)
