if you go with aftermarket wheels or spacers you can actually run 285s.

My '07 TRD Sport had 1.5 or 2" spacers and add-a leaf on it when I purchased it used 5 years ago. The thing was borderline dangerous on the highway. I would hit a rough patch and the whole truck would hop; felt like I was going to veer off of the road, but I didn't know when. Not good. I put Bilstein 5100 s on it front and back; set the front at 1.75". Maintained the same stance, but what a difference! Buttery feel, and more importantly, I gained control behind the wheel. From what I have read you can get the same result with .85" setting on the 2016s. Bilsteins and an alignment and you won't have any regrets:)

Rears are not required as they will provide no lift, only an overall improvement over ride quality. For what you're seeking, only front 5100s are needed.

I would do the back as well so you would have a better ride and consistent handling. I could be wrong but it would seem mismatched shocks with different valving would affect handling in a negative manner

Also interested in 5100s at .85 front. What size tires you guys like to run? Any pics?

Thinking 270 70 17 to keep close to stock and nice ride but im not sure if it will look good...

    Thanks

I'm thinking 275 All Terrain TA on stock wheels. I don't want spacers.

I'm going with the toytec .75" spacers on mine. I've read numerous threads on the 5100/OME/spacer argument. No one can ever provide a good reason why no to run a small (1" or less) spacer lift other than "you wont like it", "they suck", etc. I don't mind the ride of the stock bilstein setup, and I hate to throw brand new parts away that I paid extra for. Using a little logic, spacers wont affect ride quality. Using the same spring/strut combo and not changing preload.

About like the same argument people have on cars, springs vs coilovers. The coilover crowd says springs suck and you wont like them. Yet they are perfect for 95% of people.
