So does that make the Tacoma buyer the Urban off-roader?

    Sure, why not.

It's not like a Denali Diesel Colorado can do actual ranch work though, so that's a big difference. I agree that there will be a market for it, but sadly here it will likely be bought by retirees that want a small Diesel GM with the refinements from there old 2500HD Denali and kids who think that deezul is some sort of status symbol. Nearly every 25 year old want to be cowboy pop country lover here buys a 3-5 year old Diesel with a cool sticker on it. Denali, Larame, Cabella, Harley Davidson, FX4, Z71, etc etc even though they have no trailer, no farm, and no agriculture background of any sort. It's all for looks to pick up college girls at the barn who like a hat, a cheesy shirt, wranglers, and std's. I'm sure, sadly, some of those type will be willing to pay 50-60K that this Denali Colorado will be worth up here.

Denali Canyon=lipstick on a pig.Same goes for the whole Denali line.GM is riding on the success with the Cadillac Escalade variants.None of these are capable of real work without damaging the"Chantilly"body parts.I would consider a 2500HD in WT trim, without all the electrical crap on it.Resale down the road with a 2500HD WT vs Denali HD would be a horse a piece.

Surprised GMC did not offer a Denali trim version of the Uplander to spur sales? Not a GM hater, but they have done some ridiculous things in the past, like the Cadillac Cimarron,Pontiac Aztek and others.

Went to the Auto Show in San Diego yesterday... Examined the Chevy Colorado and believe me, the Tacoma (which it obviously is trying to copy) is far superior in build and features. I find it hard to believe how this thing won any awards... GM must pay magazines extra for their ads to win such favorable comments?

Yup! I drive a lot and live in New England and the first year the canyon/Colorado was out, I saw maybe 5. I've seen about 10 different 16' Tacomas on the road already in less than half that time.

Exact opposite here, I haven't actually even seen a 3rd gen on the road yet. Only seen it at the dealer. All I see on the road here are Colorados. Just saw 6 this morning, and one Canyon.

I only see my insurance adjusters Colorado, and the occasional Telus truck that is a Colorado, around here. A few 2016's on the road now.

To be honest both sell brutally low numbers here compared to F150's and other full sized trucks. I'll probably see more new Raptors here in a few months than either of the mini trucks. Nothing to get worked up over though.

11 year-old Frontier outsells the Colorado (now with diesel) in Jan 2016, though combined twins' sales are higher than the Frontier's.

Only 2 Hondas were sold??? Is that the redesigned one that looks like a truck instead of a Subaru Brat or Chevy El Camino?

^The two sold would be the 1st gen model. Redesigned one was just unveiled at the Detroit autoshow a couple of weeks ago. Production of the 1st gen Ridgeline stopped in 2014. Honda has been shipping leftover inventory to dealers for the past year.

GM still cannot build Colorados and Canyons fast enough to meet demand.

GM has been feeding the media that same sort of talk for over a year. Whether it's union members skipping lunch breaks, GM exploring other plants to produce more Colorado's, or work being done on the current plant to increase capacity. GM is definitely having success in the mid size market and the competition is good but their media spin is humorous at best.

It's been almost 2 years since their so called revolutionary truck came out. There is no way it's taking them this long to run the manufacturing plant at full capacity. Even the diesel didn't put a dent on the Tacos sale numbers. Am I the only who thinks the demand isn't there.

I'm not trying to discredit Chevy, competition is always good for consumers.
