This was at George L. Smith state park just out of Twin City, GA. We went on the GA state park paddlers club trip. Paddle 6 parks, get a T-shirt. My "navigator" got to ride at all but one, they wouldn't let him ride at Stephen C. Foster, because of the 'gators.

I'm considering buying a fishing kayak. I camp at state parks that have lakes and i think a kayak would be fun to take on camping trips. Now i'm a big guy, 6'1" 285lbs so i was looking at the Feel Free Lure 13.5 fishing kayak. It's 36" wide, from what i've read online it's stable compared to some of the other kayaks on the market. The weight limit is 500lbs. Anybody here have any experience with the Feel Free kayaks? I'm new to kayaks so all comments/reviews are appreciated, thanks.

Those look pretty pimp. At 36" and 95 lbs, it's going to be slower than many kayaks, but it should be fairly easy to stand up in if that's your thing.

Thanks for the quick reply. I'm not too concerned about the speed of it, my main concern is my size and the stability.

I'm a big guy too. My yak is 13.5" and 29" wide and I'm super comfortable in it. I did flip it once but I was leaning way out trying to grab a catfish jug. At 36" wide, you should be really stable.

Damn, my 2 WS 12' Tarpons are only 23" wide and I thought they were stable. Not completely rigged for fishing, more of a combo tourer/angler boat.

Im 6'0" and 250ish and have a Malibu Stealth 14 with a BassYak kit on it. Absolutely love it. I take it out ocean fishing here off the NE and never once felt like it was going to tip. Lots of storage too. Next yak will be a Hobie Outback though with the mirage drive

Thanks for the reply, i'll look into the brands you mentioned. I'm also considering a Vibe Sea Ghost 13. Its priced under $800 bucks so its about $600 bucks cheaper than the FeelFree and it's 30lbs lighter. I've read numerous good reviews about both.

A lot of people in the central coast sell them. I couldn't seem to find one near the valley

Thanks for the storage idea. That was one of my concerns because my garage is already full. Your trailblazer, was that a SS?

Yep, mine was the 6.0 LS2. All tbss's were.

I enjoyed it. But always wanted a Tacoma. And didn't like the price tags of LS2 engine problems.

    So off she went lol

I understand that. My buddy had a issue with the bottom end of his LS. He said it was due to a design flaw in the oil pan because his was AWD the front axle went thru the oil pan. He said it was a known issue with the AWD's. Future plans for my chevelle is a 6.0 LS.
