Hello to all TW members. I am not yet a Tacoma owner but hope to be one in the next year. I am saving money to have a down payment and will sell my current SUV. I have wanted a pickup truck for a long time and have decided on a Toyota Tacoma. Everything I have read these trucks last a long time not to mention Toyota's long time reputation for making great vehicles. My wife owns a 08 Avalon, her second Avalon at that. I have found that the prices for the Tacoma's still remain high in resale value.
What are everyone's thoughts on their truck and do you have a Manual or Automatic transmission? How many miles do you have on yours. Did you make the move from another make and would you ever go back?
    Thanks

These trucks are very much worth it. You can learn a TON of info on here by reading through different thread topics. I think if i could do it over, i would have gone with a '15 DCSB 4x4 manual trans. I miss stick shift, i always felt i was more in control with it. But now I'm in los angeles (traffic central)and the auto trans is very nice. Start your research, see what YOU like, want and need. GL.

Thanks for the input. I do like manual transmissions and the fun they provide but the automatics do make it easier to do other stuff and drive. I am looking into a few different trucks and the options they have. I will be doing a few tests drives for sure before I make any kind of purchase. I definitely need a 4x4 and it must have a V6. Would like a four door since the axcess cab is way too small. I did look at a few at the dealership when we got my wife's new car.
