I asked this question over on the regular forum and got no real replies on these side steps.
I was wondering if anyone has installed them. I don't want the steps to hang down too low
Also has anyone dealt with Partsengine.ca for parts. I see they get good reviews. Any help is really appreciated. They are for a 2015 Tacoma double cab. Black.

Did you ever get them? I'm looking for a set myself and wouldn't mind seeing how these look.

I recently saw the same website and their prices look great with free shipping to boot.

Well they are shipping today. The reason I ordered them was that I saw a 2011 Tacoma Double and stopped the owner and asked what he thought about them. I will probably install them on Thursday if I have them. The weather will cooperate. He seemed to like them and did mention he had replaced the plastic steps. His were older and still had the plastic inserts in the end. The ones I am getting are all Stainless except for the treads.
I can't complain about the price and free shipping. I will post pictures after they are on. These seem to sit higher and not as low as others. We shall see.

I received them yesterday and installed them this morning in my driveway. It was about 40 F but it went well. The install is a breeze. Used Anti seize on all the bolts or it would have been done in 45 minutes Total time about 1 hour with prep time done before in the warmth of the house. I put all the bolts and washers together so I was not fumbling in the cold and sat them in a tupper ware container. I had all the tools ready and bought a 6 MM hex head socket for the hex bolts. They supply an allen wrench but the socket and ratchet are way quicker. I can't figure how they expect you to torque the hex bolts with an allan key. The instructions are pretty good but I have watched videos on You tube. They don't sit as high as I might like but it would make no sense if they were higher. The brackets are all clearly marked and in separate coloured bags to designate which side. And the steps are in a clear bubble wrap and red bubble wrap so you know which side they go on. There was one flat washer missing and one extra lock washer. I torqued the bolts to 25 lbs as per instructions and they are pretty sturdy. So far I am pleased with the look and using Partsengine.ca was very good. They are on top of their game. I called after less than 2.5 work days and they were shipping that afternoon. They gave me a tracking number and they were delivered the next day by Fedex. I am in the Niagara region so not too far from Richmond Hill where their warehouse is.
The steps have some minor marks and a couple of little dings but over all they are look excellent. With the beating they will take, it will be a while before I can report on how durable they are.
Oh and I know I will get asked. From the ground to the top of the tread 15.5 inches. From the tread to the bottom of the door sill 4.5 inches.
That is with TRD package and 265/65/17 stock rims and tires.
I will put some pictures up later.

Hoping they have some Black Friday deals :)

I had the mods fix the pictures. I guess I was doing it wrong. It is hard to get used to the steps, especially getting out. Getting in you step up and then down into the seat. Getting out you turn put one foot on the step and step down. It will be good for my wife and Grand children.
Not too sure about Black Friday and the delivery was free. The box is 90 inches long. 7.5 feet.
    Another picture.

I was watching some vids on how to install the side steps - is it really just 24 bolts?

Yes 6 bolts hold the brackets to the body. Using pre drilled holes on each side. There are plastic plugs in the holes in three locations, front middle and back on both sides . They just unscrew with a regular large flat head screwdriver. Then there are 6 hex head bolts that hold the step to the bracket 2 per bracket. Make sure you have everything a little loose so you can get the bolts in. I used anti seize to make sure they come apart if I want to take them off. I bought a 6 mm hex head socket from home depot for 2.99. 3/8 drive. So socket wise the 6mm hex head socket and 13mm regular socket in 3/8 drive. I have a torque wrench as well. I torqued all the bolts the same to about 24 lbs.
If you put the bolts and washers together and set them in a container it goes a lot quicker. They shorted me one washer and and extra lock washer was put in instead. Really only an hour by myself with hand tools. Yes a total of 24 bolts
Easy Peasy. If you watch the youtube video where the guy puts a set of Steelcraft steps on a Tacoma it is exactly the same.

    Thanks for the info.

I too used PartsEngine and went with the ProTraxx 4" bars

Took your advise and did a little prep work before hand - and it all went smoothly

Looks good. I am using them all the time. It took some time to figure out the exit but I have it down pat now. Parts engine are really good. I got a set of wipers that didn't do the job and they took them back. The RainX lattitudes. They didn't seem to contact the window completley.
I am going to use them as much as I can in the future.

Edit: Where's the warehouse? Richmond Hill, ON

I changed my location maybe that will help to narrow it down a little.

Since I installed them I find that I am getting a sort of wind vibration type noise from the truck. I did not have it prior to the installation. Is there any way that they are causing this sound. It seems to only be in a cross wind. The only thing that has changed is the steps. I don't get it unless there is a high wind in effect.

I haven't noticed anything. But it's definitely possible that wind hum can occur.

Did you note left and right side bars when installing?

Yes they are mounted properly. Noticed it twice on the highway in wide open areas with a cross wind. It may be a common thing that most trucks do this. This is my first truck with bars. My Ranger did not have them.
