The Colorado looks like a car and has 0.3° more approach angle than a stock Camry in OFFROAD package

I did the same thing. I had a 2015 Canyon SLT. It was a nice truck with a car-like ride, but I didn't trust the quality and I liked the new Tacoma so much more. The Tacoma is definitely more of a truck.

All I can speak for are the previous gens. For our company work trucks we have 4 colorados (2008) and two 2nd gen tacomas (06 and 07). The tacos have about 140k on the clock and never have any problems aside from alignments and AC recharging every summer. The 4 colorados have 60k to 80k on the clock and we have constant codes being thrown, constant recalls, replacing suspension parts including leafs and the ABS just screws up on a monthly basis. I'm assuming the reliability of the new Colorado and 3rd gen will be about the same as their predecessors

Seriously. All the smog checks are due for the colorados in December, and two of them had the check engine light on. Took to the dealer last Friday to fix whatever the problem was. This week on both trucks, the check engine light came back on. At this rate we will never get the registration done on these POS's

Not my call, not my problem. I usually drive the f450 turbo/diesel with utility bed, crane, compressor, generator, welder on it. Favorite truck ever aside from my new 3rd gen haha
*Edit* I think the backhoe is my first favorite vehicle though.

There are lemons in every make. I work in the woods for a living, and the full size tundras are no stranger to the Toyota dealer. Tacoma's have wheel bearings and ball joints replaced yearly, but are mostly very reliable. From owning gm's over the past number of years I came to accept lights in the dash, vehicles still ran for 350k, just little stuff would go, but never major items that would leave you stranded.

The same, assuming you are talking about the GM twins

No experience with the new GM twins, but the previous Colorados were horrible. Turning radius of the Bismark, absolutely no power below 4,000 rpm and a chassis design that resembled a sneeze splatter connect the dots coloring page. Ridiculous amounts of repairs including critical suspension components cracking and splitting, and full driveline grenading due to a faulty 4X4 actuator.

The only plus side I see when you compare the new Tacoma to the new Colorado is that the GM appears to be a true full redesign while the Tacoma is just a little bit of new sheet metal, a lackluster engine / transmission combo, and sprinkled in features that have been on every other Toyota model for the last five years.

This thread sucks. It's the equivalent of a band coming out on stage, in Denver for example, and then screaming "Hello Denver! You're the best fan's ever!" into the mic and getting a huge applause.

This thread would be better if it was more like and ended like this:

Why did you get rid of the Colorado? What was the tipping point?

I will probably get flamed for this, but here it goes, I drove the Colorado and will say it is an excellent truck. Motor has good power, trans shifts were on point, it was smooth, quiet, and comfortable. I had really nothing negative to say about the truck. I actually worked numbers up on one but then the 2016 Tacoma came out. What tipped me to Tacoma is probably my slight bias towards Toyota and also when you jump on Coloradofans.com a lot of people were having small issues after small issues. I thought to myself that I didn't want to be apart of that and I also wanted the awesome resale of Tacoma plus the cabin on Tacoma fit my wife and I best. Honestly if I would have gotten a Colorado I probably wouldn't have regretted it, it really is a very nice truck.

I'm sure it is, I just don't think it will be in 5+ years. Tacos have small issues too, and they'll all be fixed by the dealer for the most part

After reading what the dealership wrote about the colorado I traded in... I must not be very smart. I'm not but I know I don't miss that colorado. Loving my new Tacoma more every day.

Looks and drives like new. Look! Look! Look! Take your hand off the mouse because this beautiful, rare 2015 Chevrolet Colorado is the one-owner truck you've been looking to get your hands on. The exclusivity of this wonderful Colorado means it is sure to be a favorite among our more educated buyers.

Don't knock the Corolla's off-road prowess. I've found them in places that would make a seasoned Jeep fanboy jealous.
