yep, I got the General Springs HD springs but I have regular stock shocks, Gabriel or Monroe I think but they were straight forward oem replacements, nothing fancy or for off roading

Did you keep weight in the bed to help them break in? I had a pair of Monroes on the back b/c my 4600s were backordered. They got maxed out and pretty much killed b/c I didn't put weight in the back at first. I didn't make that mistake with the 4600s, though.

You can use 3rd Gen 4Runner front coils. Don't remember Tundra compatibility. (What about T100 for that matter?) And so you could get inexpensive replacements from Monroe for that, less than $100/pr. But the issue with 4Runner coils is that the spring rate is higher than what's used on Tacomas, so if you're looking for "improved ride" your definition of that would have to include a stiffer ride. That's fine (and, ideal ...) if you've added weight to the front with a heavy winch, bumper etc.

no but it had 100 lbs on the bumper (flatboat trailer) about 2 times a week every week, but also I drive like a grampa so not aggressive at all and I stay on paved roads so no big bumps

Do you have new springs on the front? If not that is probably why the rears feel stiff. I had the stock worn out fronts and new rears. The rear felt right the front felt worn out. I would pull the extra weight out.

I installed new stock height Moog springs & 4600s up front. The truck feels terrific to drive, it's just that the HD springs need to settle in order to not over-extend the rear 4600s. So the weight has to stay until the springs settle in.

Could you post measurements and pics to show how how you truck sits unloaded. Would like to see if these springs will lift my truck any. I would only like a small lift if any. Thanks

Are you asking me? The HD springs from general spring WILL lift your truck. They're supposed to settle down to 1.5" higher than stock...eventually. You have to put weight in the bed and drive it for a few thousand miles to settle them in (according to GS).

If I knew what I know now when I was buying, I would have gone with 5100s all around, HD springs in the back and OME 2800s in front with zero extra lift from the 5100s. After settling, that would make for 1.5" lift all around, which isn't much at all.

Here's a pic of my truck from a few days ago with 4600s all around, Moog stock height springs in front and General Springs HDs in back (with weight in there to keep the bed from lifting too high, and to help with getting the springs to settle-in.). Sorry, can't find my measurements at the moment and it's barely above freezing outside right now as I sit here in my warm office, but you can see the height difference in the back, even with weight in the bed, although it's visually offset by the incline of the driveway. Eventually, the rear should come down once the springs settle.

What size tires are you running ? My plan is run an adjustable coilovers in the front. All the other leaf spring options give too much lift. I don't wanna deal with the vibrations from a large lift.

Those are stock size 31x10.5 x15
If you want zero lift, get the standard general springs. If you don't mind a little bit of a lift and you want to be able to carry some heavy stuff, go with the HDs and put some sandbags in the back to help them settle in.

lets be clear to avoid the misinformation being given,
the general HD springs DO NOT LIFT THE TRUCK, they restore the original ride height to correct the sag in you truck so yes, it sits higher then before you replaced the leafs, so it "lifts" the truck in that regard only, but it puts it back at the correct stock truck height where it was when your truck was new. that is all the "lift" it gives you.

if you want your truck to be at the stock oem ride height and rake then get the HD springs

I installed the hd springs and after it settled (after 2 months) measuring from ground to wheel wells it sits 2" higher in the rear then the front which is exactly where all trucks sit rolling off the dealer lot when new.

taken directly from general springs website:

Could you post some measurements from center hub to fender flare so I can compare to my truck as it sits. Thanks

Well, when I talked to them on the phone, they told me to expect a 1.5 inch lift after settling...and you can see in my pic that the rear is pretty high even with weight in the back.
