I'm in Clearwater and it's not as congested here.

But if your in Tampa the traffic is going to kill your mpg. Especially in the afternoon, some parts of Tampa turn into parking lots. I've seen afternoon traffic on the north bound side of the Howard Franklin back up all the way across the bay to pinellas county.

So maybe 14 mpg isn't that bad.

Yeah, I live in Wesley Chapel. Driving to and from Tampa every day can be a nightmare. I imagine going in the morning could be rough from Clearwater.

Filled up in Chandler (PHX) and passing through Las Vegas my tank avg. was at 21.5 mpg through about 320 miles. I went the speed limits (65-75mph) the whole way. Tires at 35psi.

So, about 50% higher mpg with the exact same truck.

Wish I got this all the time. I've been averaging about 22-24mpg on the hwy for my longer trips. I have nearly 500miles so far and the avg fuel economy is 18.4mpg and I only do short trips (1.7miles) to and from work during the week. image.jpg

I haven't manually calculated yet, but cruising on flat highway with zero traffic at 65 MPH the eco app says I'm getting 20 MPG. Cruising at 70 MPH I get like 18.

2016 DCLB TRD OR 4x4. I hope the app is calculating wrong because that's a bit disappointing. Not that I bought it for fuel economy.

For the short trips keep in mind the higher ratio of stop/go to open driving and engine warm up time as well.

I find that the computer calculates mileage low. First off if I hand calculate I get about 7 tenth higher than the computer. Secondly my odometer is off by -2%. So I actually travel 2 miles per hundred farther. I checked the odometer on 2 separate 100 mile stretches of open highway. GPS and mile markers matched exactly and truck was only at 98 miles. So, With all that said I actually get 1mpg higher than the on board computer. First two tanks at 250 miles apiece were 18.9 and 18.2. Dash only told me 17.8 and 17.1 respectively. I have a DCSB TDROR m/t.

That is funky. My computer has been getting more accurate. Last check was 20.69 by my calcs and the on board said 20.7.

I has never been more than .7 mile off for mpg.

Just completed a road trip from SLC back home to Nevada. 4 tires in the bed, 200 lbs of shopping and clothes bags. 5 people on board. Running my brand new 265/75 Duratracs, 68-82 mph the entire way. 16.1 mpg computer...hand calculated at 17.1.

I checked my tires and mileage changes going up to the 265s and total mileage is off about 3%. So that means 3 more miles per hundred on the odometer. For you guys with 285s make sure and do a 100 mile test run with mile markers and gps. Then you can figure how far you actually drive each tank and then hand calculate to see what you get.

    I'm about 6% off. With 285/70r17.

Sounds about right. So on a full tank of say 300 miles on the odometer you would have to use 318 miles to calculate an accurate mpg number.

Well my od says 265 per tank. When I fill it's about 18.5 gal. I fill when the light comes on.

So if my math is correct I'm getting like 15.8mpg.

    Am I about right?

    265 x 1.06 = 280.9

    280.9 / 18.5 = 15.18 mpg
