I ran my yellow wire mod on a switch. When going L4, everything engage like if there is no mod and then I shut off the yellow wire. No beep, no Lo blinking and the trac light (yellow car spinning) disapear from the dash. By shutting off the yellow wire after engaging in L4, does my truck "knows" that it's in L4 or does I fool it and "think" it's back in H4?

I thought that all this started with the 2009 models, but may be mistaken. Searching "yellow wire mod", you might come up with better info.

Hmmm....I'm not sure. Have you tested to see that the TRAC is working in 4L?

It seems to but it has been a while since I've had the truck stuck.

In 4hi a short press on the VSC button doesn't light up the TRAC off indicator either.

In 4H a quick push of the VSC button illuminates TRAC OFF. The same thing happens in 4L. Maybe the bulb that lights up that indicator isn't working.:notsure:

Reviving this from the dead because I am about to do the enhanced YWM on my 2010 4x4 DC SR5...2010 base, SR5, and sport models do not have a TRAC OFF light in the dash cluster... the reason is in 09-11 the normal mode for 4H is TRAC with no engine regulation, which is equivalent to TRAC OFF in 2012-2015 models. 09-11 has no quick press option in 4H, just long press to when stopped to open the diffs.
