I bought a 1/2 kobalt torque wrench at lowes that goes up to 120 ft/lbs. The best thing about it is that it cost me $65 on sale and it is guaranteed for life. That's right, for life with the paperwork to prove it.

TTORA search indicated that the bolts be anywhere from 85-90. That's what a memeber indicated with their Wheelers AAL. I'll probably torque them to 75 and be done.

So mine are to low. Will that cause any issues?

Nah, you should be good at 50. They'll loosen up over time, so it's good to check them periodically. I only tightened mine up to 45 last time and I'm still alive.

Can I torque them while the vehicle is on the ground?

Yeah it doesn't matter to my knowledge. That's the way I've always done it.

All the research I've seen puts the u-bolts at 80-85 lbs. @Unchained 5150 you should be fine, nothing to loose sleep over, but just be aware of them until you get a chance to tighten them up. Anything that isn't torqued to spec could have the potential to loosen over time due to road vibration/ impact etc. It's not a guarantee that it will, but just be aware of it. It's always wise to check on any new install periodically for this same reason. Since I've done my suspension install, I have the habit of going around the car once or twice a week and just visually checking exposed threads and whatnot. So far so good, but I did have one nut that was loose. 3500 miles later, I'm sure I can call it good, but I still check after off-roading or taking bumpy roads.
