I'm leaning towards the short bed but just interested in how much long is the long bed compared to the short bed. Oh I'm going DC-I already know it's DCSBFTW thank you.

I don't haul anything and the 4runner was too expensive. Boom, DCSB.

I originally wanted a DC TRD Off Road, didn't care about bed size. Then circumstances ended up where I needed to find something in a hurry and ended up finding my DCLB Sport. No way I could go to a smaller bed now. So much stuff just barely fits in my bed as it is.

I actually really like the Tundra CrewMax but the 5'6" bed scares me away from it. It would be my next truck if it had something like a 6'6" bed.

I would do the same with an LB. He's just doin it wrong. It's the most convenient way to transport bikes.

I have used my DCSB for quiet a bit of stuff, and never really had a problem carrying anything. But get what you want and think you will ise the most.

If you're buying a Tacoma to use primarily for hauling, you made a mistake with EITHER bed option. Get a long bed full size truck OR a trailer. After owning just about every possible combination of truck beds known to man, even a full size long bed has it's limitations.

That said, I MUCH prefer the looks of a short bed. I MUCH prefer the off road abilities of a short bed.....

and I own a 16' flat bed trailer AND an F750 Ford farm truck for when I need to haul anything big.

What are you going to do with it?

My first Tacoma was a DCLB. In addition to 3 kids I hunt, kayak, fish, bike, used to tow a camper, house projects, dirt, flowers tress etc. so I got the long bed.

The extra foot does affect handling and parking. I work in several hospitals that have parking garages. The longer truck sticks out a little farther and getting in and out of spaces isn't as easy. The long truck also doesn't zip in and out of traffic as well.

This is still not a huge truck and parking garages are still very manageable, but it's not as easy

I crashed my DCLB and replaced it with a DCSB and absolutely do not regret it. It parks like a civic (almost) and still hauls almost everything I want it to.

At this point in my life I cant picture anything in the past 2 years that I couldn't do because of the short bed, or at least couldn't find some other way to do

I haul kayaks regularly, bikes in the back or on the hitch, hitch extender for long boards, can't sleep in the back with the tailgate closed so I open it and put a tarp over the cap.

    It's all about your needs.

I had both and the short bed works much better for me and still carries plenty
