I posted early that I stop at my dealers and they had two dc 1-sport ,1 off road I told him about the hood issue and he was not aware of it ,so we popped the hood on both Tacomas and sure enough you could see the separation They were both sold and he told that they would be into the shop that day to fix !! I told him then when mine came in the first thing before I take delivery would be to check it out and he assured me he would !! Sound s to me like they can do it at the dealers ship !!!

Just Saying Check it out !!!

Fair enough. I personally will wait for a TSB. It sounds like a very common issue and I'd rather the fix be thought out. It's simple as some adhesive, but there could be considerations of prep, expansion, contraction - etc. Since you are forming a flat body panel to a rigid understructure, any change could result in panel deflection (high or low spot) occurring. Patience may be the best approach here.

Thanks guys. I found out that America's Tire was running a $100 off on four tires today, so $1,059 installed for a set of 265/70/17 BFG A/T KO2's - $100, so $959 installed. Not too bad. I went with the 6-Ply, Load C tires since I don't want to mess up the ride. Will hold off on the lift for a bit.

I'll post up pics once I get them installed. They had to order the tires and I just ordered the TRD Pro wheels, so it will probably be a couple of weeks.

Nice Truck. All I can say is kaching, kaching, kaching. That is the noise that the cash register is making for the next 10 years. Between purchase and all the mods you are talking about I can only imagine how much it is going to be in the end. Its almost as bad as motorcycle mods I have been making.

I hooked up my Toyota TIS tool today and customized a few features on the truck. After that I decided to take a drive into the "Delta" which is south west of where I live. It was a nice day and it made for a nice drive.

Nice rig man. I use to live in grass valley and drove through those mountains all the time. Beautiful drive. Heading through in January in my '09 to head up to Wyoming so I know I'll have my share of some fun in the snow.

That's cool man. My ex-girlfriends parents live in the Grass Valley area off of Brunswick and 49. Let's hope for some more snow - it was pretty light up there. I recorded the drive over on my GoPro and the snow was pretty light at this point.

I've been modding the truck here and there. Today was the day to hit the DMV to get my fees paid and get a temp tag here in Cali. That all went well, thankfully.

    I've added:

    1. Morimoto 55watt HIDS with 4500k bulbs + Morimoto LED Foglight Assemblies. I have since ordered 5500k bulbs to match.
    2. Added vinyl tailgate letter inserts.
    3. Removed V6 badge.
    4. Added Toyota chrome exhaust tip.
    5. Added console organizer.
    6. I found a couple of ashtray inserts from the previous 2012 F150 FX-4 Ecoboost I owned. I was looking for a change holder of sorts and found that it dropped right into the center console rear most cup holder and locks into place. Looks like an ashtray but will be my coin holder.

    Upcoming:

    1. Some sort of a bed cover.
    2. All weather liners. Come on Toyota dealership!
    3. Black TRD Pro wheels + 265/70/17 BFG A/T KO2's. Now I'm debating if I should see if I can swap to 275/70/17's, but that would put the truck on load E tires, and I'm not sure I want that. Probably best to stick with the load C tires I ordered. I have TPMS sensors on the way. Planning to get them installed on Friday since my tires are already sitting at the tire shop.
    4. I want to order a Tracrac setup with an extension for hauling stuff once the brackets are released. They cannot provide an ETA though.
    5. I bought a set of OEM takeoff seat covers with the orange/black accents. Everyone was telling me I needed them, so I found a set on eBay for a reasonable price.

TRD Pro wheels installed with BFG A/T KO2 in 265/70/17 Load C. Drives better with these new tires, my 20 mph shake on deceleration is gone and they are only a touch louder on the highway.

I do have some TPMS issues even though I bought the ones which match the FCC ID of the truck. The odd thing is, I can't get these sensors to register with the truck, but the truck is still showing PSI readings in the cluster, though a little low. Not sure what's up.

Love the new look. I'll get some better pictures but it was late in the day when I was at America's Tire getting these installed.

What local dealers did you try to negotiate with? So far elk grove is the only one that is making a deal in sac. Maita had a sale 2 weeks ago and was offering $2K off MSRP and even $3K on the limited they had in stock. Right now the best I can find is $200 over invoice.

Nope. I'm an IT veteran. :)

I got $2k off MSRP from Dolan in Reno. I was working with Thompsons Toyota in Placerville. Maita wouldn't give me a trade appraisal because they were "busy", so I walked. They offered me a whole $200 off MSRP after I test drove a silver 4x4 Off Road. Thompsons was very fair but they couldn't get the truck and made commitments they couldn't keep. Dolan didn't want to deal at first but they ended up coming down to nearly match the deal. Thompson was nearly $2,600 off MSRP on a 4x4 Inferno Sport, but it had some extra accessories which probably allowed them to do that a bit more than other trucks. I felt getting $2k off MSRP was fair since I got the exact truck I wanted.

I contacted costco, who referred me to Elk grove and they stated $500 MSRP off after email contact. I also was directed and went into Folsom lake, wouldn't give me a price on the phone, and they stated the same $500 off MSRP. I waited and Costco called me for a follow up and I let them know there was no Costco pricing set up with those dealers. Costco referred me to Modesto who told me Invoice, or $300 if they have to order it, for any vehicle they have in stock ( Most of their taco's had too much accessories on it ). I then saw the $250 on top of invoice, on this forum, but Merced was too much of a drive to go down there to order it.

Elk grove then did a follow up and I told them I would do $200 over invoice, since they are close, they agreed. I then contacted Roseville, Maita, Hanlees, and folsom lake and they all told me they don't need to discount anything.

I ordered a sport double cab with NO tech package in blue with Elk grove and it should be here at the end of the month.

BTW I heard Alldata had a huge layoff recently.

I'm planning to do a similar tire and rim swap. Is there a reason you didn't transfer the tire pressure sensors from the old set? I was going to try that and just sell the rims and tires separately. But seeing that you bought new sensors... maybe that's the better option.

Hey got a question for you. The Trd OR comes with 265/65/16. You put on 265/70/17. Have you experienced any tire rubbing
