    I drove it about 5 miles and I could notice a difference.

    Transmission felt more "fluid" pardon the pun. Defiantly smoother shifting. Then again it could be I had 75 grand on the old fluid.

    Since you have the Core/Hurst kit installed on your truck, you'll be able to tell a big difference than with a stock shifter. The Core shifter lets you hear all of the gear noise going on with the stock tranny fluid. Compare that noise and feeling with how it feels and sounds after you change to the MT90. My tranny went from very notchy and "crunchy" sounding to a nice subtle gear whine.

    Sweet! Anyone have any suggestions on when to do that? Should I change ally fluods at 5k or give it a little more?

    I changed mine out around 5000 just for piece of mind that the original fluid got replaced. I can't remember how cllean or dirty it was though.

    Yea I'm thinking all Difs, transfer case, trans and motor oil at 5k. One more good trail run a couple weeks should put me over 5k, and then I'll do em all

    Too many to list, and I've probably forgotten a bunch.
    I just did the driveline fluids yesterday - FR+RR diffs, tcase and 6sp trans. I guess Toyota fired the ape that used to torque the FR diff drain plugs at the factory, because these came off easy (my previous 2004 took a breaker bar, torch, PB blaster, and words that would make a Marine blush). Diffs and tcase were easy, but the trans was a PITA.

    It took nowhere near the specified 1.9 qts - closer to 1.5 or 1.6 (about as much as the front diff takes, oddly enough). This was after I slapped a level on the hood and jacked up the driver's side to center the bubble. Still, the MT-90 is good stuff. Shifts feel a little better, and the whine when I'm coasting in 1st gear, clutch in, has subsided a bit.

    The 75w85 crap in the front and rear diffs came out black as night, lots of metallic powder, a couple little flakes, nothing big or unusual. Next time around the diffs are getting 75w90. Also going to do a UOA on the diffs - I suspect the viscosity breaks down quickly, meaning you're running a 75w most of the time.

    One handy tip - warm up your bottles of oil beforehand. The fluid pumps more easily and spills are easier to clean up. Also +1 for the Motive unit. I have their brake bleeder and it's tits.

    Another alternative technique to filling is fill through the shifter. I had to swap out my shifter bushing and it's super easy to get to and saves buying a pump/hose setup which can get messy. Just wanted to throw it out there in case someone is in a pinch though this is now my preferred method.

    I have a 2015 TRD Sport with 6MT <6K miles and TRD Quick Shifter. I wanted to change out the transmission oil to Redline MT-90 75W90 GL-4 and ordered some thru Amazon. What I received was MT-85, 75W85 GL-4.

    Should I return it for MT-90 or .... use it?

    I sold my Tacoma about 2 years ago, instantly regretted it, but didn't end up replacing it for a while.

    Yesterday I picked up a one owner 2009 SR5,4x4 V6 MGM 6spd MT. Pretty fucking excited to be back. Expect more out of me soon.

    Oh nice!!!! Im at about 6k miles now, today im changing motor oil to Mobil 1 synthetic and trans fluid to Redline MT90. Didnt quite want to spend another $150 on Redline dif fluid just yet lol, gotta spend monies on Long Travel :D

    Good luck with that. I just started to get more time to myself and my kids are 6 and 8 lol. Funny thing is, I wish they would stop growing up so fast though.

    You're not crazy. The Warranty & Maintenance Guide for my 2013 recommends "inspecting" the transmission oil every 30K miles, but never recommends changing it, under "normal" operating conditions. (Not a good plan.) The same guide recommends "changing" the transmission oil every 30K miles under "special" operating conditions (i.e., Driving while towing, using a car-top carrier, or heavy vehicle loading).

    Thanks. I guess it would be best to just keep tabs and make sure its still shifts smoothly then. I thought our trannys dont have dipsticks though...
