Whats up everyone! New to the forum and wanted some suggestions or ideas for things i should do to the truck. Its a 2014 Tacoma base access cab (5 lug). 16x8 Method rims with 265/75/16's. Did black box delete to fit the set up and no rub. Has been debadged, hitch, sway bar delete, internal blue led's, removed mud flaps, Antenna X 13" antenna, headrest grab handles, plasti dipped black front emblem, and glasspack magnaflow muffler. Newly installed Total Chaos uca's and sway away 2.5 reservoir coilovers. (Midlevel travel) Quick Fists mounted in rear with shovel. Regeard to 4.56 and Detroit Truetrac installed!
Looking for all helpful comments good or bad. Thanks guys!

Looks great! How much lift did the front setup give you?

I didnt even put any preload on the coilovers and there was around the same 2.75 inch lift that i had with the readylift spacers! Huge difference!image.jpg

That's great! And thanks! So you could go on up with some preload. I looked on sway a way site and couldn't figure out what you have. Did you buy as a kit or put the shocks and springs together?

I built up the kit. I got 6" reservoir coilover assemblies by sway a way. Then had to get saw hardware kits for both of them. Then got 3" eibachi coils. Also for tacomas you will need 1.25" heim spacers up top (4 total) with 1.5" heim spacers at bottom (4 total). Grade 8 bolts for the lower shock to mount to lca. Also got the total chaos upper control arms for the 5 lug tacoma! Works great!

Awesome! Are you still running the AAL in the rear? I've been tossing around some ideas on what I'm going to do. I currently have the Fat Bob's setup which is basically the same as the ReadyLift.

Im currently running the aal in the rear and putting on bilstein 5100's for now until i can get the deaver pack and some type of 2.0 smooth bodies. But that will all be after the regear and locker :)

You going with an air locker? I regeared and put a Detroit TruTrac in mine, and I love it!

As of now i want a detroit locker with new gears. What gears are you running now? Im still a little unsure of what i really want. And if you dont mind me asking how much was the cost of regear and locker?

I went with 4.10 because I was only wanting to get back to where I was before the 31" tires. I'm automatic, btw. The regear was around 1100 parts and labor. Plus the TruTrac was just over 400 after Eaton rebate. I ordered it from Summit with free shipping. The shop installed it for no extra since they already had it apart. They just replaced my open unit with it, the new gears and rebuild kit. So around 1500 total.

    Are you automatic?

Yes im an automatic! I was thinking 4.56 gears because i was thinking i could move up to 33's for my next tire size and am currently running 265/75/16s which is pretty close to 32's (31.65 or something) to my understanding. Was there a noticeable difference when you put all that in?!

OH YEAH! I'm running 245/75/16s (30.5") and I could tell a big difference when I put them on. Engine was bogging badly, and loosing low end torque killed me with my camper. Regearing was a definite must for me. It felt like a new truck after driving around a few months before that. If you are going 33s, you probably will need the 4.56, but please keep this updated so I can see it.

I just looked at the numbers and it does look like 4.56 is what you will need with the 33s. I assume your truck is a daily driver. If you haven't done the research yet, I would highly encourage you to do it about putting a full time locker in. I know it's a bad word, but I read a lot about the lockers verses the TrueTrac on the jeep forum. I would at least give it a look. I know it's twice as expensive, but if you are sold on a locker and could swing it, I would go with an air locker. Just my .02.

As instead of the detroit locker? (Nontrue trac) Would you rather have the air locker so you can just turn it on and off when you want? Or would you rather have the detroit on everytime the pedal is pressed? And thats what i think im gunna do with the new gears!! Glad to hear there is a significant difference because i was hating how slow its been feeling lately! :)

I'm looking into getting one hopefully by mid next year; if i'm able to manage my expenses. Are you looking into getting a front bumper for you Taco?

I currently am just unsure if there are any differences in the front frame area for 5 lugs and 6. Like are they universal for all in that year?
