Mine were OEM, but I'm in Canada... and things are weird here.

I'm waiting for someone to do this so I can see how it's done. I had one in my 08 hood scoop! The light is patiently waiting in the garage for the mod!

Looks good, already ordered letters for my tailgate and my truck won't even be here for another month or so.

Your state makes you put their inspection sticker on your bumper ? Yikes, that would drive me and my OCDness crazy !

I would assume he meant drilling a hole in the roof for that antenna.

Yeah, I guess that's what he meant too but I just couldn't pass up the opportunity for a little levity.

Punch a hole in the rubber gasket where the wire bundle and hood release go through the firewall. It's on the drivers side. Can't miss it.

Im curious. On a scale of 1 to 10, how much of a pain in the back end was the whole process? Aprox. how many hours did you spend on it? I'm seriously considering rolling some dynamat all through my access cab and want to know if its worth the wrenching

In addition to this query, I'd love to know how much a difference in db it made. How about a short youtube video with you talking while driving at highway speeds or under full acceleration? I'm intrigued in doing this.

Now that the winter months are here I decided I needed some new wiper blades and crystal fusion applied to my new windshield after mine was cracked driving over the the mountain last winter. If you don't have crystal fusion on your windshield and you live in the northWEsT like me, you need it. Makes driving in poor weather conditions so much easier. Although I came back from the holiday weekend with a pretty sweet score from my visit to the dealership, I think my brother may have topped me lol. Brand new 2016 TRD Sport. An upgrade from his previous 2010 TRD Sport. His only complaint is it doesn't have the Premium JBL Audio w/ sub that was in his old one. I wouldn't be complaining about it because overall the truck is straight up BAD ASS!! Had mine and his both running side by side and you can even hear the difference in sound. I was blown away. It was not difficult for me at all as I have Dynamated my last two 2nd Gen Tacoma Double Cabs. It IS time consuming and your hands will get cut up doing the doors...

Lowering the headliner and installing Dynamat on the roof of a Double Cab with a moonroof took me took me about two hours. It took me about six hours to remove the interior to Dynamat the floorboard, rear wall, B and C pillars. On the doors, I applied Dynamat on the outer skin and inner and also on the flat surfaces of inside of the doors panes. Each door took about an hour and a half. So a total of about 14 hours. Your Access Cab should take you a few hours less.

Yes the 3rd Gen does have a lot more insulation compared to the 2nd Gen but the Dynamat makes the doors feel and sound solid and now I can't even hear the rain on the roof. The truck is so quiet now, I can clearly hear the wind and road noise coming through the two air vents in the rear wall (see my photos) that is new for the 3rd Gen. I plan on covering the vents with Dynamat as my 2nd Gen did not have. I hope I'll be about to close the doors....

It would be interesting to compare the db levels. I just did the floor and rear wall today, where there is a good amount of insulation already. I have already had the roof and doors done for a few weeks now. Doing the roof made a big difference on cutting the heat down (from the sun) and it no longer sounds like a tin roof when it's raining. The doors now feel and sound solid.
