Brad Scott almost escaped...but ended up as a coordinator for Clemson instead

From what I hear he became quite a recruiter too.

:goingcrazy: Ranking the current (open) Head coach positions:

    RANKING THE OPENINGS

    1. USC — The jewel of the West Coast. Can it lure Chip Kelly back to school?

    2. Georgia — If there is a job that could pull Tom Herman out of Houston after one season and a big raise, this might be it.

    3. Miami — Facilities issues. Stadium issues. How much is the private school willing to pay? But so many players right in your backyard.

    4. South Carolina — The SEC pays big, but nobody ever won in Columbia the way Steve Spurrier did. Was it an outlier?

    5. Missouri — Still hard to tell if being the SEC East school in the Midwest helps or hurts the Tigers.

    6. Virginia — There is no reason the Cavaliers should lag this far behind Virginia Tech.

    7. Maryland — The Big Ten East is not getting any easier, but the Terps live in the recruiting area the conference wanted so badly to access.

    8. UCF — The conference, infrastructure and recruiting base sets up well for a relatively quick turnaround with the right coach — who can use it as a springboard to a Power Five job.

    9. Syracuse — In a division with Clemson and Florida State, the goal is to be better than Boston College, Wake Forest and as good as N.C. State and Louisville. Not impossible

    10. Rutgers — In a division with Ohio State, Michigan, Michigan State and Penn State, every season could start with four losses.

    11. Memphis — Fuente was really good. Don't assume his replacement picks up where he left off.

    12. Toledo — Outside of maybe Northern Illinois, it's the best job in the MAC.

    13. Tulane — The school is investing in football, but it's still behind AAC West rivals Houston, Memphis, Tulsa, Navy and even SMU. Should pay well, though.

    14. North Texas — Good spot for young offensive coordinator to show his stuff.

    15. Louisiana Monroe — Have to start somewhere.

As far as Eason goes, a while back his dad said he's committed to UGA as long as they have a pro style offensive coordinator. So we'll see.

Rumors floating around that UGA and smart already have a deal In place and Richt will be assistant AD (which is possibly why he flew to see Eason and met with Ben Cleveland and another 5* recruit in the last couple weeks) until Mcgarity is fired/resigns, which could help save our recruiting class if that's true.

Could all just be tumors, but we should see in the next few days.

The fact that Richt never signed his contract extension kinda makes me think he was ready to leave anyway.

Would love to see Richt stay on staff with Georgia but I think some team is going to offer him a shit load of money to coach for them. I just don't want Georgia to go hire crazy for all of Saban's assistants.

That would make since but why not announce that he's promoted rather than saying he's been offered to stay on the staff the way they did?

In the press conference today, Richt stated that he is excited to have another coaching opportunity . Guess the part about him becoming the assistant AD is not going to happen.

Some flags and center console divider... lots of things on the wanted list.
The USC (southern Cal) job just got closed. They promoted Helton to permanent head coach. Looks like Chip gets to stay out of the PAC

Well idk why it won't let me share the link but anyway said were are reportedly going after Smart but he wants full control and Pruitt may not be able to stay that Smart might bring in Muschamp but will pay a hefty price to do so.

Please do not bring Muschamp to UGA! Did you see the way he went off on the refs last week.

UGA might be Smart's dream job, but does UGA really want to go with a guy who has never been a head coach ever? Is that how the best opening in the country (sorry, USCw) should be filled?

I haven't read the article yet, but I don't know why Muschamp would leave auburn at this point. Though, the barn is 2-9 in their last 11 SEC games, so maybe it's time to jump ship...
