Agree, when I converted mine it's only have 87k miles since truck only owned by 1 owner and that was me. Buying another used truck is way too much of a hackle cuzz you never going to find out if the truck is bad until you own it.

    So riddle me this:

This just started a Yesterday on my drive to work (100 miles, through hills). When I apply throttle, my rpm jumps up 1-1.5k with no additional power output. If I let off the gas and then reapply, ever so gently, then I get an almost normal response (still a little sluggish). It's not just me stomping on the pedal. This is also happening when cruise control is engaged, as soon as I start up a hill, the truck tries to increase power to maintain speed, but the rpms just jump up to 4k like its in Neutral.

I did clean the throttle body and MAF today, I did notice an improvement in the over all performance, but this issue is still on going.

Manual? Sure sounds like a clutch slipping.

Def sounds like slippage. Did you burn it up recently? When it starts doing that and you stop you will probably smell it too.

No smells, no recent burning up. Normal around town driving and driving to work. Work for me is 100 miles away through mountains.

I have had manuals for the last 22 years, haven't had it slip like this before, but doesn't mean that isn't the issue.

Can't justify/afford a marlin clutch, anyone else have any suggestions? Haven't bought a new clutch in a long time and then it was always from the local parts house.

Just making sure you know, before you assemble/have them assembled, make sure to move that adjustment ring to the bottom notch with those Eibachs.

    I installed an Aisin Kit.

    http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00340FETK?psc=1&redirect=true&ref_=oh_aui_detailpage_o06_s00

That's what the OEM clutch manufacturer is. Not sure if this kit is identical or not, but working fine so far.

I have not read up much on the install. I was going to borrow some spring compressor s from AutoZone. Can anyone point me to a link for installation? I am not smart enough for the search function.

I was looking at that one and the Exedy clutch on Amazon ( I love prime). The Exedy is cheaper and has better reviews. hmmmmm

This isn't something I am usually cheap on, but the reviews are good. hmmmmm

I can't get the fucking factory skid plate off. This is infuriating. Of the 3 vertical fins on the skid that make contact with the crossmember, one of them appears to be stuck to the frame. I guess it is rusted on?.. I have banged on it and tried to pry-bar it and it will not fucking budge. I'm about to just hold a blowtorch on it for 20min. This thing is stuck and I don't understand why. It's almost as if it's welded on.
