I know most of you have black armor.. And I tried color matching my plate bumper, and didn't like it, but I wouldn't mind some color.
Any of you have bumpers, sliders, or skid plates that are anything other than black?
    Post up the pics please

    A few things
I have seen some white front plate bumpers on a white truck. To me it looks horrible.

RT, not a fan of color matched plate bumpers. Only seen one I liked and it was a DO colormatched MGM and was spot on.

While I don't have armor, I could see where some color might look sharp in some combinations.

But I'd use something pretty durable, like you can find here. www.monstaliner.com Much better product than traditional DIY bedliners, pretty decent finish, and some interesting colors to be had.

Be sure you look around their customers build pages. Some very creative folks out there. I'm actually surprised more of this product hasn't spilled over into the TW crowd.

How hard was it to do the taillights? I like the painted over reflectors, but have been painstakingly searching for clear to no avail. Any leads?

Not so hard as it is time consuming and just working up the nerve to cut the lens off. You can't bake the taillights like you can the headlights for the BHLM. You have to use a dremel tool with a small cut off wheel. There is a small gap between the lens and housing. You have to cut about 1/4 inch in between the lens and housing all the way around the taillight. That is part of the time consuming part. Then once the lens is removed you have to tape off everything that you don't want painted. Prime, let dry, sand, paint, let dry, paint again, let dry, etc... Once you get the color you want you have to epoxy the lens back on the housing. Let dry for 24 hrs. Then seal the gap between the lens and housing no less than 3 times with a 24hr curing time in between. After that you have to tape off the entire outside lens with the exception of about 1/4 inch around the edge and paint that area black to cover up any glue / scratch marks left from the cutting wheel. Then your done. It's about a 3-4 day process.

What they look like done. I've since replaced the amber bulb with a LED amber bulb so it doesn't show when not lit.

That is badass sir! I have a black truck and really don't want to "murder it out" because quite frankly I think it looks cheap. I'm getting some SCS F5 wheels soon in matte gunmetal and I believe the tails would look great if they matched. Subtle but not overbearing. By the way I found your thread on the taillights shortly after I replied here. Good stuff in there. Keep it up. Always nice to see something different.

If I had to do it again I would have gone with the SCS wheels also. I like mine and I like the black but I think I would like the ones you're talking about more.

I'm really excited to get them. Unfortunately I have to wait until they get their next shipment in which will be mid January... I'll probably tackle this soon after. I want to be sure to match them correctly.
