Prolly should have proof read that before I submitted the post. It doesn't sound quite right.

lol, yep, too much time on my hands I guess. just typed in wizard tree gnome in google search and found it

I bet any local place that sells concrete lawn art (angels, bird baths, gremlins) will have it or at least have a catalog of stuff for you to order one from.

did you buy "anything" at that store? check your credit card purchases and call the stores you bought from during that time

I had to rebuild the transmission in my Kitchen Aid Stand Mixer (not flip, the bowl goes up and down) a couple of years ago...I was unable to find a shop to repair it for me, so I had to do it myself.

That's why we have 2 as well. Wife was in the middle of a baking marathon and the transmission went South. She made me run out and buy another mixer.

After 10 minutes of taking the thing apart, I was able to find the bad part. $6 and 3 days later we now have 2 mixers.

I'm ashamed to know how much those Bernina units cost. On the plus side, I may be the only person you know who has embroidered shop towels.

City is taking down an old walnut tree. It was slowly dying. It was dropping dead branches in the street. The thing was huge. Gonna miss it, but it really was starting to be hazard.

On the plus side, no more clogged gutters from this v tree.

Additionally, I did not have to pay to make it gone. I was worried. The tree wa s planted before the sidewalk. The tree was in exactly the center of where the walk would normally be, if the city hadn't decided to go around the tree. I was sure the city was gonna try to get me to pay because it wasn't exactly in their area of responsibility.

One of the last rental house I was in, the city decided to take a walnut tree apart in our front yard. Encroachment by root and limb, lots of debris falling, ect Good walnuts,,some of the best, But it was a huge mess and it pretty much zapped the yard of nutrients. Missed the fresh walnut,,but didn't miss the thick layer cleanup every year. Was absolutely cursed by 16 very tall Poplar trees at the next place. Those were the worst, you don't want those, don't ever plant them. Only took me 1 season to move on,,lol. Feet of debris,,not inches. One of the reasons a pressure washer came into my life.

It is, in furniture grade and enough to make a truck load to the mill. Single trees in poor condition, less so. However, from the sizes and shapes you have, might be good for wood turning. Put it on craigs list and see.

Yup, this^. Single specimens looking semi-ugly,,not so much. Now if it was really dark ratted (swirled) on the cross cut,,you have gold!! Wood instrument folks pay up for that. All kinds of artisans would snap it up. Californian table builders like to mix it in with other pieces. There is some piss fir (Yellow Hemlock) that is worth bucks, believe it or not. Kind of a Blonde Hemlock that is tight swirled and very rare.

Grab a turning table at HF,,right up your alley Kod. You have some nice pieces to work with.

It starts correctly now, thanks to the best dealer tech ever.
Whoa!! Bring some of that walnut out here for us!! Jealous!!! Looks like a lotta nice wood. @koditten , I agree with @Mod - you should make some stuff from it. Would be cool. So whatcha gonna make????? :D

It's funny that this is the theme of the thread right now, because I was logging on to brag about our score on some wood. Found some 8' 2x6's of clear cedar at HD yesterday that were 70% off. So we got $115 of cedar for $35. :D Looks good too!! A few imperfections, but overall not really any worse than what's on the shelf!! Excited!! We always have plenty of DIY ideas but a limited budget, so scores like this make more projects possible sooner. :) Not even sure yet what we'll use it for, but I know it will be used soon. It's very purty. :D I love cedar.

I'm so glad to see the thread still going. You guys are an interesting bunch. And it's great to get different perspectives on stuff when making big decisions. Always helps to see the different sides of a thing.

I'm also so glad to announce that the Taco has officially passed the 1 yr mark since the piston tragedy and creation of the thread, and she is running strong!! :burnrubber::yay:

1 yr is great. Keeping my cards close until we get 2-3-4 on it. Don't hex it,,just ignore it and it will live,,,lol.

Keep that cedar wet Jen,,if it was wet at HD. By wet I mean just racked outside again with a loose tarp on top. If it dries out to much after being wet and cut,,it will twist-curl-warp up on you and you will have to plane it down quite a bit to be nice 2x6 again. Once attached to a firm structure,,then you can let it dry out. Don't worry, that Western Cedar scent lasts a lifetime and can be rejuvenated by a pass thru the planer,,(wink). It's really nice stuff, but it can be finicky. Hell of a deal on those.

Bunch of 16th century elephant foot candlestick holders out of Kodittens pile. Chair back spindles, the list goes on.

Just back from Lowes. Damn Microwave decided enough was enough and went on strike right at christmas time. Old one was 1996,,so we got our money out of it. New GE 2.0 1200w back in it's place. Roomy inside there,,could cook a whole hawg!. So far it boils water, ha.

Oh yeah,,it's only 1/10 size. Forgot that little tidbit . Awesome functioning detail there.

Cool idea tho'. Sometimes you have to look at old ideas for fresh inspiration.

Well, had to go to that ridiculous tourist trap that is Frankenmuth. She better appreciate the effort into going over to that zoo.

On the plus side, the statue looked right at home in the back of the Tacoma...and it doesn't shed hair:)
