I might consider a Prius if it weren't so damn ugly, expensive, easy to total. Sounds like yours took a pretty good hit, but I've seen them totaled from far less. A Friend of mine got his totaled from a little water in the battery compartment. Car left them stranded, just told them to see their dealer. And yes the price of oil WILL go back up and it ain't gonna be pretty when it does!

We all may be riding bikes when Saudi gets done! BTW we got a iQ, crazy good mileage, easy to maintain, drives well, and low cost of ownership:D

Now back to people who can't park:rimshot:

I live in a town full of smug Prius and Subaru drivers. I know some reasonable down to earth people who drive both, but in general the environmental justice warriors who drive them think they walk on water and look down their noses on others.

Don't get me wrong I have no problems with either of these cars, but the mentality of some of the people who drive them is sickening. Those hybrid batteries will be leeching toxins in landfills, and I have no idea where the Subaru drivers get off on their environmentalist superiority, it's a normal car.

There is a husband/wife duo who lives above me in a building of 9 or so apartments. They're both terrible parkers and its gotten to the point where everyone in the building avoids parking next to them, like 7-8 spots down the lot, far away from them. I have to play this diabolical game of chess every night coming home from work when one or both of them aren't home. You have to strategically choose where to park and if you guess wrong, you're liable to have a ding in your door in the morning.

The WRX, STi and BRZ are all kinda the antithesis of "enviro-mobile", so, yeah... Not sure why damn hippies have to try and claim the whole brand.

If they are repeat offenders, and if I would have got a door ding from them then I would pull out my trusty old screwdriver and draw a nice picture on their vehicles.

Or just document it and make their insurance premiums go up.

Get evidence that they dinged your car and make their insurance pay for it. Their rates will go up with a claim.

Hahaha. Same here, only my buddy inherited a Grand Marquis from his Grandmother during high school. He called it "The Dinger." Our little neighborhood posse would load up in that boat and roam around town looking for shit to hit. He would as a matter of practice pull into a parking spot and bump the car in front of him. We thought it was hilarious. Man, it was a door dinging, yard-farming, mailbox hittin' machine. We were punk teenagers in need of an 'ass-whuppin.' And---every one of us eventually got "ours" before graduation.....

I don't think saying "there was no door ding before they parked and there is one after they parked" would work. Besides sitting for hours and trying to catch them in the act and record it is too wasteful. Then you have to get their insurance info. Pretty sure they wont give it to you if you ask nicely. I find the screwdriver method easier. Don't like it? Don't park like douche next to me. It's that simple.

I agree, it is more effort than I would go through to prove, but possible. My favorite method is get rock sliders that go up to the door. I am looking for some actually. I had them on my jeep and when I parked my thinking was go ahead swing that door open like a dick.
