Was told after I got my starter installed on my 2015 Tacoma the anti grind function can't be enabled. Was told it would trigger a check engine light if they used a resistor on it.

Just wondering if anyone else has the same issue when they start there truck with the remote starter and you accidentally turn your key all the way does the starter on the truck grind. Was told to just turn it to the on position. But sometimes it slips my mind.

What are my options? Learn to deal with it or take it somewhere else to see what they can do, or if it's even possible to have anti grind enabled?

.. turn the key to ON. When the key has resistance (turning it into "START"), stop turning it.

The problem isn't not having some kind of electrical prevention device.. it's you not paying attention.

It's not a real common modification. Since you didn't do the install yourself, I think you have to trust your installer, who told you the anti-grind can't be enabled.

Taking InstallerA's work to InstallerB for additional modification and diagnostics is pretty much a formula for disaster. Most smart folks won't fall into the trap of being an "InstallerB" - there's no potential upside for them, only potential headaches, and they'll tell you from the get-go to go back to InstallerA.
