The main bars come off with just a couple bolts. The main brackets can stay while you use your tri-fold cover. Then quickly reinstall the cross bars and you are set to load them up.

Haha, yea something like that. We tried to make it as easy as possible for you tri-fold guys, but there aren't many options without getting complicated. And no one likes complications.

I'm one of those tri-fold guys. I can't wait to try it out! I don't mind sliding a bar out. It's worth it to me

Awesome man. I knew there was some of you out there.

This whole concept was developed after we made a traditional style set of bed bars that we modified to work with my tonneau cover. I loaded up those bars and took a trip to Michigan. 2500 miles and 7 days of camping later, I hated them.

It was a pain to roll up the cover. There wasn't a great way to attach anything to the bars. Even unloaded, I could barely use the bed of my truck. They just seemed to be in the way, especially when I wasn't even using them. I decided then that the bars had to be easily removable.

Several design concepts later, we converged on this design. It's much better looking and currently more functional then the original bed bars.

Now that you know the back story, let's make this product a reality. I'm tired of being the only one with a set.

So, when are these being fabricated? I just bought my roof top tent and it should arrive anytime this week, so I will need these bed bars soon! Let me know when/how to make the payment, given an expected delivery date. There is no winter here so I can go out camping 365 days a year! LOL. Thanks!

Anyone else find it funny that kb voodoo is coming out with extremely similar bars around the same time. Not looking for trouble, just thought it was worth a chuckle

I saw that today as well, is what it is. People said the same thing about our tailgate cap and said we copied him. Sure, it is a similar design, with changes in aesthetics for what we felt was a better looking product. I call it competition, everyone does it. If there were no options, there would be one truck on the road, one car, etc. It is why laws were created to kill monopolies, Rockefeller ring a bell? Our design is vastly different, stronger and has more capability to mount whatever you want. Yes, it will cost more but like I said, it cost more because in our opinion, it is a superior product.

Just an update to all, made some minor cosmetic and better functionality improvements today, then put all the parts on order. Some of the pieces will be here in a few days (hardware, gasket) but the powder coated pieces I don't expect to see for a couple weeks. Then we'll be ready to ship out the orders. We decided to go with all S/S hardware, a cost we're willing to eat because we see how well zinc plated hardware holds up to the weather. And the cleat rail nuts we made will be powder coated as well. The cross bar is an extruded aluminum piece. You can be sure that nothing on this product will ever rust!

How close are these bars to Thule? I guess to be more specific will I be able to mount my bike trays on these?

From what we've researched when picking these bars, if the product fits Thule, it'll fit these! Almost identical cross section. That's what makes these so great.
