It really is isn't it. I'd have paid extra at the dealership even if it was treated like an add on accessory. I'm not sure exactly which switch picture you saw, however all of the options have one switch to press in that will start heating both of the mirrors. Time options are:

    Left of Steering:
    5 or 15 minutes

    Under AC
    5, 10, 15 or 20 minutes

That is how much they can automatically heat for when pressed. If you wanted to cancel out the heating you just press the button again to make them stop.

Ah okay, yes that picture is for something that is in development but not yet available for sale. Under the AC we can do though. Thank you for the order, much appreciated! I'll fire over a PM and get you up on the list.

I have a question that may have been answered so I apologize for not searching. But anyways, can you order any switch and have it set to whatever time you like, or do the switches all have different preset run times?

The same shit everyone else has.

YES!! Ive been waiting to see this happen. Are the heated buttons latching?

Also, are those switches from a Japanese spec Prius?

The left of steering switches are preset. Two different switches for the 5 & 15 minute option. The under the AC kit however uses a timer relay for setting the heating time. Just as an example if you ordered an under the AC kit and asked for 10 minutes, you could still very easily change you heating time after the fact to 5, 10, 15 or 20 minutes if you wanted to. It's as easy as adjusting two mini toggle positions to change the heating time.

There has been a number of people who asked about an option that doesn't take up a switch blank so finally started looking into it. The heated buttons are latching. So one option will be very simple... When the button is in the mirrors are heating and when it is out they are not. For any of the kits that want a timer built in instead I will disable the latching feature so that the button is a momentary style like the other switch options I offer.

The illuminated switches are japanese spec but I believe prius didn't make the cut. The ones with confirmed fitment have been out of toyota models that don't exist here in North America.

I'll order on my stupidity, because I KNOW I'll forget to switch them off. :) I take it the push button is just a momentary switch, or you'll make it one, on the multi-mirror switch.

As they come from Toyota the switches are a latching style. When you push the button in it will stay in until pushed again and then it will come back out. I've already pulled one switch apart and confirmed that I can convert that button to a momentary style where it only stays in while you have it pushed in with your finger and then will spring back out when you release. I will only be switching over the button to momentary style for people who want a timer built in.

Then just like the other two kits you press the button and it will heat the mirrors for the preset amount of time that you picked. If you wanted to cancel the heated mirrors early you would just press the button a second time.

Also will be posting what I've come up with for the pricing here shortly.

    Great work!
Please put me on the list for the upcoming mirror control/heat switch: amber, 15min momentary switch, illuminate with rest of dash.

I am interested in this new option - if you need help developing it let me know otherwise I can wait for pricing/production.

(Depending on availability and pricing I would like the mirror control switch with a 5 minute timer and Amber light that indicates it is on)

Here is the pricing structure on the new Mirror adjustment switch / heated mirrors option:

No Illumination or Timer - $355
    - With this option to start heating the mirrors press in the top right button to start heating the mirrors (the button will remain pushed in). When the mirrors are clear push the button again and it will release and stop heating the mirrors.
    - This option will require for you to add 1 terminal into an empty slot in your existing mirror adjustment switch connector

    Add an Automatic Timer +35
    - Will include a timer relay with preset heating times for 5, 10, 15 or 20 minutes which you can advise what you want it set for. It can also be very easily changed after the fact if you want to adjust to a different time setting.
    - The mirror adjust switch will have the button converted over to a momentary style so that it springs back out after you have pressed it. (same as the other two options currently available)
    - This option will require for you to add 1 terminal into an empty slot in your existing mirror adjustment switch connector

    Add Illuminated Switch +35
    - This option will include a switch that illuminates and you can choose between having it illuminate when the headlights turn on like the rest of your switches, or if you prefer you can have it only illuminate when the mirrors are heating
    - Includes a additional bridge harness that is needed since the illuminating switches use an entirely different connector on the back. No need to add a terminal into a connector, simply click one end of the harness onto your existing mirror connector and the other end of the harness into the new switch and your done.

Pricing includes everything needed... Mirrors, switch, harness, bridge harness if ordered etc. Also includes tracked shipping on everything to your door.

    Pros
    - Perfect option if you need heated mirrors but have no more switch positions left
    - Genuine Toyota products used giving perfect fitment and will finish off looking like a factory option

    Cons
    - Although the illuminated switches are genuine Toyota, they are not available in North America so I have to import them. From the time I place an order to actually having the switches delivered to my door looks to be around 2.5 weeks! If you are looking to order please keep that in mind as at least at first I don't plan to carry a large stock unless I see that they are moving.
    - Admittedly this option is a bit pricey. When I first saw the kind of costs involved I was thinking I might just drop the plan to go ahead with this option. However I figured I would throw it up as an option and if it is wanted then I can build them.

So in reality there is still a bit of work to be done, I'm waiting on some parts to show up so I can actually wire up all of this. It's one of those things where I'm 95% sure it will work just from an electrical standpoint, but until it's actually been built and tested I can't say 100%... I don't give out my 100%'s that easily lol.

Now that the pricing is out there if you would like to go up on a list just let me know, although as mentioned these are not yet ready to start sending out.

I'm not really counting any orders that came in before I posted pricing. Now that it has been posted though you can have a look at the different options and let me know if you would like to order.

I appreciate the offer. The development is pretty much out of the way at this point though. Just waiting to get some components in so that I can confirm everything works as I have envisioned it.

Received my heated mirror kit Monday, got it installed today at my local stereo installation place. Installer didn't even need instructions for install. 2 hour install charge, very sharp set-up works very well but will not need it for a while, predicting green Christmas for Southern Ontario. Kudos for the kit, sooner or later it will be a much needed mod.

Damn if your installer did it in only 2 hours without instructions then I'm impressed! I've done a few installs and I'm moving pretty fast to hit the two hour mark (also without needing to reference instructions).

Hope you enjoy the kit and thanks for ordering

Ok thanks for the order! Yes you got it exactly right... What I'll do is get the details up on the first page and get a small separate list going for this new option.

I'm getting some supplies in early next week (terminals and connectors) and then should also have a delivery of some switch options coming in early the following week. From there I should have everything in house needed to properly design this new harness and test everything. Once it's all been verified I'll be able to ship orders
