The Waiting Game...Who's playing?

I am starting to get worried about my order. I was told I would hear something by Thanksgiving, and still haven't heard anything from my salesman. If I don't get a reply to my (2nd) email requesting an update soon, I am going to ask for my deposit back and start searching the country for the truck I want. I will just have to factor in flying somewhere to get it into my cost to buy.

 

I thought about that option but I'm limited to the state of Georgia because of their BS new tax law where you have to pay 5 years upfront. So if I bought out of state I'd have to pay double tax.

 

Looks like I won't have to go that route. Dealer just replied and looks like maybe I have an early January date. The truck order he sent me showed Black instead of Blazing Blue Pearl, so he is working on changing that. Once he does, hopefully I will get a temp VIN and can start tracking it.

 

Ordered my trd sport Sb back on Sept 18th got build date 2 weeks later truck was built on Nov 10th, now still waiting for delivery, been waiting about 10 weeks now. Starting to get impatient at this point.

 

Ordered mine on Sept. 10th. and was to be built Nov, 23 rd. Well went in today and found out it was not going to be built until Dec 22nd or 23 rd. all because of some tech package I ordered to start with. Bummer !

 

Ordered a TRD DC off-road quicksand with all the options on 10-5 still no vin#. What a joke. How can it take two months to get a place in line. If there are any northeast Ohio sales people listening tell me a date u could have this truck. Nothing would make me happier than pulling this order from the people at Ganley in Akron.

 

Has to be the JBL holding things up. I ordered at OR DCSB with Tow and Prem/Tech non-jbl on 10-10, was built on 11-23 and shipped already.

 

Maybe. I guess it took ten years to redesign the truck and it may take another year or two to not build a radio but to buy one and bolt it in. This release is embarrassing.

 

I'm in the same boat. I ordered mine Sept 28th and they told me first of Dec. Then it got changed to Dec 22 but the day after Thanksgiving they called and said "a few days" after the 22nd. Apparently the tech package (HH) is the hold up. Mine is non-JBL although everyone posting about getting it is making me wonder if I should have.

 

How long before they gave u a vin# or eta?

 

They gave me an ETA pretty quick but then it changed but it seems to be go along with what everyone is saying on this thread. They emailed me a VIN this Saturday the 28th.

My build date was 11-17, today is two weeks since then. DCSB BBP Premium Tech/Tow Package/JBL/Sunroof

 

Build date 11/20, they told me today 2-3 days to arrival!

 

11/14 build, should be here tomorrow or Thursday!

 

Were they built in Tx or Mx?

My build date was 11/17 Mx and dealers telling me still no permanent vin

So here's my story,I ordered and put a down payment down on 9/21,got a temp vin about two weeks later with a build date of 10/31,on 10/31 it got bumped to 11/4 where its been frozen at since,the P.O.S salesman at Lithia in Missoula Montana,has done the very least effort possible once he got my down payment,last week he finally emailed me after I contacted his sales manager and left a voicemail asking why they can't find out why my f-ing truck is not getting built.So I get an email back from the salesman saying they are trying to find out and today [Tuesday they should have some info]so another g-damn week drags by and I'm waiting and waiting and waiting ,I finally call this morning and ask to talk to P.O.S salesman,he is with a client again,every time I try to get ahold of him hes with a client ,this asshole must sell a lot of cars.So I ask the receptionist to have him call me,4 hours later nothing,so I text him and ask if hes is going to call me with any new details,two more hours go by,so I call his sales manager,basically the blind leading the blind.He has no idea why the truck isn't getting built,nothing he can do.So I hung up and googled Toyota's corporate number,got ahold of a guy there,he went way out of his way trying to find out anything,nothing would even come up with the temp vin the dealer gave me,so he started a case number and complaint for me,they are passing it to someone who is higher up in the food chain at that dealership,he said within two days I will get a call back from someone to start trying to figure out what the hell is going on with my build.I will update in a few days.

 

Sounds like we have the same pos dealers just in different areas! I can't get any answers either and every time I call the manager or the salesman are with someone and never call back. Do you mind posting or sending me the corporate number so I can try that route tomorrow. I'm moving cross country in 2 weeks and need to find out what's going on with my build soon.
