Any idea if this upgrade is possible on a 16?

I was thinking of the back from the engine bay.

The 10-15 degrees lower seems inline with the hand touch feel on the lens.

The harness upgrade is definitely doable. I'm not framiliar with the 2016 headlight bulb, but if it is a 9003/H4 the 85w Osram is definitely doable.

The 2016 has Projectors, at least on the TRD Sport I was looking at. I have a Highlander that has the projectors and H11 bulbs. That I did a 55W 4300K AC HID retro fit. It works very well. Without looking into that truck further I can only guess you could do the same as I have with my Highlander.

If it has H11s bulb upgrade options are terrible. I'd look at LED/HIDs since it is in a projector and not a halogen reflector.

The Projector in the Highlander work very well with a very clean horizon and no scatter at all. If you use a 4300K bulb, it looks definitely factory. I would like to think the Tacoma uses the same projector as a 2013 Highlander.

It seems the Postal Service surprised me today. No, not in shooting everyone in the local office, but in delivering my lights a day earlier. I dropped everything and began to install them the moment that magical Priority Box appeared.

Output is brighter, that's a proven. It's the correct light pattern, also proven. And it is hotter, but by what I would consider an inconsequential amount. Although warmer, it's still cool enough to the touch.

Same as yesterday, light on for 30 minutes taking the average of 5 tests, which was 135.9 degrees.

As for light color, it is greater than a standard halogen. I inserted my H11 HID 4300K bulbs and AC ballasts into my fog lights for reference.

    Garage Door Test.
Todays weather during testing was only 3 degrees warmer, so likely insignificant difference.

My final thoughts: This is a fantastic upgrade. The lumens are vastly improved, little to no consequences for the conversion, (ie light scatter, improper light color, poorly angled beam). We have reflectorized lights on the 2nd Gen Tacoma. HID/LED upgrades are nice in theory, but poor in execution.

I would attribute this upgrade as to entering a room with a light switch potentiometer (dimmer). Regular bulbs are 1/2 way turned up, this turns them all the way up.

Great data, thanks for posting. Now I'll have to find another use for the new IR temp gun.

I went with the LED replacements from XenonHIDs.com and am very happy. Much less light scatter, good color, and super bright.

    and with the LEDs

No change in the ammount of flashing I got before or after.

    Work for me.

That LED beam pattern looks disastrous. Note how the Halogens are flat cut off, the LED are all over the place.

Um.....That looks pretty scattered to me. Not quite a solid horizon. I just went out for gas and this is what my horizon from about 40 feet away looks. It should be more solid like this.

    IMG_1514.jpg

Also I dragged my wife into having her drive behind me while I look at the lights. They don't seem different from stock at all, until...... I went down a hill and my position was under the horizon. They are bright!

Correct, it should be a flat clean horizontal cut off line just like that. If it is not, the optics are wrong and you are likely blinding others.

Stay above the horizon! They are super bright!

You will find many uses. Here is one you requested that I forgot about. The back of the housing. Sorry about it being upside down.

OMG!! They are. I am really loving this upgrade. I have to play with it a lot more, but so far so great! Thanks again Crashburn80, great idea and setup!

Along with this, I also did my outside temperature mirror with sensor.

I'm logged in and using Safari. I'll try Firefox and see what happens. Interesting as photos from other posters come up just fine. Damn technology.
