Entune/Bluetooth Android Issue

I own a '15 with the (non-JBL) entune head unit and am having issues with the bluetooth and my Nexus 5.

The issue appears to have started after I upgraded my N5 to the latest android OS (6.0 Marshmallow). I have attempted to delete both phones from each other's device and tried a clean bluetooth re-pair with no luck.

Issues include:
-Receiving SMS shows a blank number with no ID or number.
-Phone list (recent history) is wrong
-Contacts section is blank and cannot be selected
-Bluetooth calling does not go to the speaker - I must manually change to handset
-Messages tab has texts but are all shown as UNKNOWN labels (not listed by the contact/number)

Does not appear the bluetooth audio (media/music) is affected in any way.

Anyone else having this issue?

 

I have Entune Plus in mine and the only problem I am having is I can't get it to get my contact list from my phone.

 

I'm not sure if this will help or not - with the radio in the on position press and hold The on/ off control knob for 5 seconds. This will reboot the head unit.

 

Tried to clear the chache (using these instructions http://www.gottabemobile.com/2015/10/12/android-6-0-problems-fixes/)with negative results. Tried unpairing, still acting wonky. Im wondering if its an issue with entune reading the new software

 

has anyone have issues with their entune showing as "unknown" for their contacts when receiving text messages. tried everything.

 

After using my Samsung S5 Bluetooth in a rental car last week, my texts and emails stopped coming thru on the etune

 

Yeah this issue is still happening on mine as well. Ive tried everything in the book including resetting the connection and clearing the phone's cache. Not sure what the problem is

 

with my Nexus5 and entune plus (2015 tacoma), the phone takes a LONG time to dial. The first connect is always poor and scratchy. Try again and after a long connect time, the quality is fine.

 

Depends on your MM ROM. Had that issue w/ Cata & Pure, OK w/ Chroma.

 

Are your running

Are you running ViperFX? I found it interferring w/ bluetooth quality, although fine for all else.

 

You just saved my life JD. Not to hijack this thread or anything but you solved my number one problem. When at a gas station or something and you leave the truck to go in to pay with phone in pocket(leaving the 30' range). Coming back the Bluetooth would not reconnect unless you shut off the car and started it again. Now with this trick I only have to hold the button for 5 seconds. Great help. Thanks Been looking for a solution forever.

I have the same issue with my entune (non-JBL/Nav) with 2014 Tacoma, after I updated my phone (Samsung Note 3) to lollipop (5.0). I brought my truck to my local Toyota dealer where I bought my truck. They just update the firmware of my entune radio and works fine again. Next time I will hold or delay my phone update.

So getting the dealer to update the firmware firxed the issue?

 

I have Entune Plus and an Android Motorola Turbo. I have Lollipop though.

Latest update I got on mine improved some features and broke others.

For example, if I use Voice Commands I cannot tell it what to text someone anymore. It pops up 4-5 options on screen ("I'll be there soon" "Sorry I'm driving"). I used to be able to tell it exactly what to send in the text. Also, when I say, "Call Jeff" it now says it doesn't understand. Why? Because... who freaking knows. Jeff is in my phone though! Some people it works, others it just doesn't. And it's consist about it too!! If I delete the contact and re-enter them it works just fine though.

Honestly, the Android support/compatability on these Entune devices is horrible in my opinion.

 

Mine began doing this after the Lolipop update on my Droid Turbo. Anyone in my phone who comes up as "unknown" also cannot be voice dialed. It for some reason cannot read their name data. If you delete them from your contact list and re-enter them into your phone it fixes that error for THAT contact. Really annoying.

 

Yes, I check the date of my radio firmware to verify if they updated it.

 

I did the 5 second entune + reset, deleted the nexux 5 from the entune, deleted the toyota from the entune, then started again andall is fine now. I have marshmallow.

 

I think I have to get the firmware update for my radio. Tried everything.
