Hi everyone, here is a brief TR of my trip to The Maze district of Canyonlands National Park. I don't have too many wheeling photos since it was just my wife and I, and she was too busy spotting me to take photos.

Anyways, we entered The Maze by the Flint trail, drove out to Dollhouse #3 campsite, and then out to Hite.

My truck is a '15 access cab TRD with 255/85r16 Maxxis bighorn tires, OME struts and 883 springs on the front and wheeler off-road progressive AALs and OME shocks. Truck was just fine on the trail, but I drug the receiver hitch countless times and even hit the exhaust where it crosses under the tranny twice. Nothing bad, and it was a great way to break in the truck since it only had 5,000 miles on it by the start of the trip

Looks like you can get the permits 4 months prior to departure date, limited to 3 trucks per permit. @Squeaky Penguin

    Making a Reservation

To check availability or apply for a backcountry permit, visit our online reservation system atcanypermits.nps.gov. Once your reservation is processed, you will receive an email with instructions for making a payment online. Once your payment is received, your permit will be sent by email.

You may also print and complete a reservation form and submit it by email, mail or fax. These reservations will be processed when received. Requested sites may not be available if someone reserved the same site online before your printed reservation is processing.

    When to Reserve

Reservations can be made no more than four months, and no less than two days, before the permit start date.

    Fees

Canyonlands charges a nonrefundable reservation fee for each permit. These fees are paid for both walk-in permits and visitors making advance reservations.

The permit process was pretty easy- just plan ahead so you can get the dates you want. Best $30 I've ever spent!

^what he said...fairly easy, just plan ahead...research the spots, but you can't go wrong with any of them...

we stayed at High Spur, Sunset Pass then Standing Rock when we went...

    such an amazing trip...

if you plan to take poison spring out, make sure you have maps that cover the area, and don't miss the turn :D closest we ever came to running out of gas...in an area where you don't want to run out of gas...and we had 23 extra gallons with us  (2 trucks)

would not hesitate at a chance to get back there again
