Hey TW I'm here to introduce two new emblems to the line of custom emblems available at Diazfabrication.com. Emblems are hard black anodized and have a brushed aluminum logo followed by a layer of clear coat to protect against weather.

As we all know, TRD stands for Toyota Racing Development and it was established as a line of higher performance vehicles and parts in the line of Toyota, Lexus and Scion vehicles which range from commercial to professional racing series.TRD is responsible for improving the performance of commercial vehicles as well as supporting Toyota's racing campaign around the world.

    TEQ emblem:

TEQ emblem was inspired by the famous original Toyota logo written in Katakana, a type of japanese writing. in 1933 Kiichiro Toyoda founded Toyoda Motor Co. which started as a side project inside Toyoda Automatic Loom Works. With the success of it's first production vehicle (model AA) Toyoda Motor Company sets off to become a japanese car manufacturer with hopes to be at the level of American and European car makers.

In September 1936 Toyoda Motor company ran a public competition to design a new logo for the company, the end result was a modified version of japanese writing spelling the word Toyota substituting "da" for "ta" for a few reasons:

    1) Toyoda (トヨダ) was changed to Toyota (トヨタ) because it took eight brush strokes instead of ten.
    2) Toyota (トヨタ) can be written by using 8 brush strokes, lucky number in Japanese culture.
    3) Toyota has a much clear sound than Toyoda

Both of these emblems can be installed on the front grille of Toyota vehicles with the use of a mid bracket. It can also be used as a hitch cover with a hitch bracket or as a stand alone emblem in an after market grille, double sided tape or even hang it on your office wall.

I couldn't resist and get some color on these bad boys only to know how they would look like so here they are.

This would be another option color it is dark grey.
Trust me the color looks much better in person or maybe I should hire a professional photographer to take pictures lol.

If I get enough interest on the colored ones I can have them made, the problem is that I only send stuff out for anodize in every batch and the next batch is in March. I've been thinking of adding dark grey as another color option.[/QUOTE]

    TRD is $37
    TEQ is $35

    Price is subject to change.
As always I find more efficient ways to fabricate these emblems and do my best to lower cost.

    You read my mind.
I had some anodized red and blue just for fun and they turned out wonderful.
if I get enough interest I can have them anodized in color as well.
I've been thinking of having dark grey as another color.
The one problem is I don't send stuff out for anodize too often, they have a minimum charge for every color and if I don't get enough emblems anodized It doesn't make sense to spend so much money on only a few emblems.

So will this one bolt up to where the Toyota emblem currently is on the grill?

    Exactly!

The back plate is called a mid bracket.
Each mid bracket was designed to have the same configuration as the factory toyota emblem for every grille and yes all grilles are different.
You simply replace your factory emblem with a mid bracket and add an emblem of your choosing.

Is a option possible to have the TRD letters in a color(red)instead of the pictures you have posted above where the letters are brushed and the background is red!?Red letters, black background is what i'm inquiring about.

    No, it's not possible.
Emblems are anodized which is an acidic bath and curent is run through the part attaching the pigment from the bath. I would have to mask everything except the lettering which is quite tough to begin with and there's no guarantee that the color will come out right. If you purchase a black one I'm sure you can mask it and spray paint it. Another home-made solution would be to dip a sponge onto red paint and apply it evenly on the surface, this is a similar teqnique I use to apply clear coat. I agree with your two color idea but so far I haven't had good results.
